User Reviews for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

1 Star Rating: Not Recommended

Convenient, pretty airport, but food svc TOTALLY disappoints. In effort to be "upperclass" they ignore convenience & price. Muller Airport had quick, economical fast food offerings. Bergstrom offered only VERY EXPENSIVE food and LONG waits. I was IN LINE for 35 minutes & ended up having to leave to make my flight without getting anywhere near the counter to order. Airport is geared to well-heeled business travellers, not average vacationers or families travelling. If you travel thru Bergstrom, pack a picnic lunch!

Pros: Good parking, Accessible

Cons: Crowded, Overpriced food, Poor food selections

this airport screams "AUSTIN!" and i love it. lots of local businesses to show off what austin is really about and a beautiful gateway into this city of ours.

Pros: beautiful, local biz, lots of diversions

Cons: can get crowded

Do not speed at this airport because the cops are diligent. Trust me, I know after going 41 m.p.h. in a 30. But, I'm not bitter--it was my own fault. I like how this airport has local restaurants inside for your layover. I also think it's very well designed, from the parking lots to the terminals. You may have a little hike to your gate, but this airport isn't big enough for that hike to be too long. The rental car area is very easy to use and returning is even easier.

This is a top attraction -- luckily most of us go through it automatically. Everything about it rings Austin, Texas, from the Salt Lick barbecue to the sounds of Jimmy LaFave piped in through the speakers. And if you are lucky, catch one of Austin's best local performers taking the stage (for free) in the terminals. This is just one fine example of Austin standing behind their reputation as the 'Live Music Capital of the World.'

Pros: live music, great local foods

Easy layout and great dining within the airport. Reasonable parking rates and easy in-and-out access. Live music at the gate makes for a great welcome to Austin.

I hadn't been back to Austin in a while, and had completely forgotten how much I love the airport. Wonderful atmosphere, local restaurants (not a Cinnabon in sight) and great music. A-plus for A-town.

Pros: local

Cons: Hwy 71
