Don't waste your money

by dlrowehtc

Food was horrible. Chimichanga dripping w/ grease. Margaritas were $8 and a little bigger than a shot glass.

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: the food

$8 plus for a small plate of chile con carne enchiladas without tortillas, a very small amount of chile con carne, requested tortillas to find out they are not freshly made. iced tea was very weak.

  • Pros: comfortable atmosphere
  • Cons: high price food and not that impressive

Not what it used to be.

by pjr66

Their prices have went up, along with the attitudes and quality. The salsa was way to hot, food not so great and prices too high.

  • Pros: parking is good
  • Cons: not worth going out of your way for

Bad Food

by superdave31

Had lunch there not too long ago. I ordered the cheese enchiladas and the meal was not half bad. The aftermath and carnage over the next 48 hours was. I must have gotten bad/spoiled food and I have never been sicker in my life. Prior to this meal I had nothing else that day and I am positive it was their food that was the source of my discontent. I will spare everyone the details, just use your imagination and stay away!

  • Pros: parking
  • Cons: bad food

AWESOME!!!!!

by tidbitcreations

I just hate to see the bad reviews about this place! I go there all the time since we discovered it. The margaritas are fabulous and so is the food. They seem to be understaffed but the courtesy of the staff they do have and the quality of the food makes up for it. The second time we went, I thought, "There's no way the margs could be as good as they were last time!"

But, they were!!! And so was the food. We have been there numerous times since and it is just as good as it was the first time we went. They've just started delivering, too. BONUS!!! Welp, off to place a delivery order! ENJOY!

Uninspired & UNDERwhelmed

by defman

I don't think I've ever had to use either of those words before today, but sadly they are the only ones that seem to suit. I'm sorry to say the salsa was the highlight of my meal. Queso was overdone and starting to separate. Chili Rellano was dull & boring, I'd be surprised to find anything more than salt was used as a spice, if even that. It wasn't that it was bad food, it just wasn't good food.

I just moved to Austin from Dallas and I know Austin can do better than this. So far, two of the three non-major chain, non-fast food, have been a disappointment.

  • Pros: The Salsla?
  • Cons: Everything else!

Worst customer service and food!!!!!

by themrmagoo

I went there one night and some one had put $135.00!!! of food and drinks on my tab that was not mine, i was by myself!!!!....the "manager" refused to take it off and i had to pay it...a few weeks later i was told i was not allowed back there because of the way i "voiced my opinion" when i got the bill.

The food there sux anyways...tasted like TV dinners and the service sux!!!!

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: the manager dont care...they just want ur money no matter if they put other people on ur bill.

Serving traditional Mexican food and potent margaritas around Austin since 1972.

by Contributor

In Short
This traditionally decorated restaurant features a separate bar with a large-screen TV usually tuned to sporting events. Fridays and Saturdays feature live music to accompany margarita sipping and chips and salsa munching. Antonio's pechugas de pollo come in three varieties, but the favorite seems to be breaded and fried chicken breasts stuffed with Monterey Jack cheese, bacon and mushrooms that are topped with chili con queso on a bed of rice with beans.
