How does be placed after 3-4 weeks sound acceptable to anyone? The interview should take place within 2 days and you should be placed within a week!!! Come on!!! How did these people wait so long!!!!

I found Career Consultants to be very friendly and responsive! I moved to Austin at the beginning of October and was having trouble with other temp agencies. Upon making contact with Career Consultants I had an interview lined up almost immediately. Now 3-4 weeks later and after going through the interview process, I have a job lined up. The best part is, I think they did a good job of matching up my skills and what I was looking for; I am excited to be starting soon. I would highly recommend Career Consultants. The office staff was pleasant and helpful. My recruiter seemed to be passionate and motivated, and did a great job of matching me up with a promising opportunity. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I totally disagree with the first two reviews on this site! I just moved to Austin and this firm was very helpful in finding employment! I was hired in 3-4 weeks of relocating here. Not only did the recruiter I work with completely inform me of the position I accepted; I received great advice on interview tips and revising my resume itself. I was lucky to meet several people in their office and all of them seemed to be very friendly and helpful. It is sad to see the first two reviews posted because my experience with this firm was amazing! The motivated staff there kept me working temporary positions throughout my interview process with the company I work for now. Thanks Career Consultants! I appreciate the service you provide! You can bet I will refer anyone seeking employment to contact you right away!

The "bigger is better" mantra doesn't apply here. Yes, they receive hundreds of resumes a day to be sure, but all that means for you is that your resume will never really be looked at with any care, and your goals, interests, and whatnot will never be taken into account. I'll bet a computer program scans the resumes for key words and if yours comes up short it's automatically trashed. Keep in mind that the companies pay these people, not you. So if you're happy being plugged into a generic job without any real consideration for what you want, charge ahead. That is assuming you'll even get a job; odds are you'll send in your resume, apply for loads of jobs for which you're qualified, and never hear back on any of them. You'll probably never talk to a single human being. If you try to call and talk to a rep that places people in jobs, you'll get a snippy receptionist that'll tell you to submit your resume online and wait patiently for a job to come up, and no, you can't talk to anyone. Try a smaller company like Burnett, they'll have you email your resume to a sentient human being who will then have you come in for a face-to-face interview. You can then tell them exactly what you're looking for, and they'll go out and hunt for you. I call my headhunter weekly and she knows who I am when I call and cheerfully gives me updates. And (gasp!) I've been on actual interviews for actual jobs I'm interested in. The 5 minute sign-up process for Career Consultants is, sadly, 5 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Pros: Quick sign up process.

Cons: Rude/non-existent staff, website crashes quite a lot, don't hold your breath on getting a job.

I have been to their website several times to apply for jobs. You NEVER hear back from them. I was definitely qualified for many positions and to never get a response is ridiculous. They must be the laziest staffing firm in Austin. Don't bother!

Career Consultants Staffing Services receives hundreds of resumes daily. They are submitted via our website directly into our database. Unfortunately, not every applicant is a qualified candidate or of the calibre that we utilize to match with our client's needs. We hope that you will find our application process easy and know that should you be qualified for opportunities that we represent, we will contact you for further screening and a personal interviw.
