Traveled the country to come back to him!

I had originally been a patient of Dr. John in 2000-2001 and I absolutely enjoyed him! Great bedside manner and he really DOES care about his patient's health and well-being as opposed to some doctors who are nothing more than shills for the pharmacuetical industry. I had to leave him for several years as I took a job that moved me all around the country but I'm back in Austin to stay and the first thing I did was make an appointment to see if I could get back in! I'm happy this man is my doctor! He's great!

• Pros: He takes time and treats you like a person not like a medical billing line item...
• Cons: none to speak of

Seriously - the best Dr. I have ever had!!

I love Dr John and Yvonna Bickham! I have been going to them for over 10 yrs! I will be moving to Georgetown next month , I will gladly make the drive. The nurses are wonderful, too. They just make you feel cared for. I appreciate the care they give me. I recommend Dr John/Yvonna all the time. Wonderful bedside manners. Also, Dr John is very funny. I will ALWAYS come here. They are awesome.

• Pros: great location/ beautiful office/ wonderful nurses and PA
• Cons: thr front office lady is not as warm as the rest of the staff

GREAT DOCTOR, POOR FRONT DESK!

Dr. John is a wonderful doctor, with great bedside manner. He as well as his nursing team make the time that you need not what is scheduled, which is something that I have always loved- last thing that a patient wants is to feel rushed. However, his front desk person does not have the best customer service out there.

• Cons: Poor Front Desk Service

He takes the time to listen and cares!

I have been his patient for a little over 11 years and now bring my son to him as well! He is patient with my Motherly concerns and with me. At first I tried going to peditricians thinking they would be best, but they are not and their offices are awful. Dr John will never lump you in with other patients just because that is what's going around at his kids school.

I've referred several of my friends and family to see him and they have all been incredibly happy. He won't just medicate you to shut you up and is honestly concerned with your well being. His office staff has a friendly almost family like manner and will do their best to work with your schedule. As his partner he has Ivonne Bickham RN who is fabulous and very gentle. His office is located near Chuy's so you can make your lunch extra long! There is always parking available and the waiting room is clean and classy.

• Pros: Patience, Listening, Knowledge needed to FIX THE PROBLEM
• Cons: He no longer has juice and crackers in the waiting room.

Great Doctor and great Staff

I will have to agree with the previous poster. I moved here in 2004 and not knowing where to go to I called and asked a couple of questions to the staff. Turned out to be the best thing. I am very satisfied with the service the staff as well as Dr John have provided. He makes one feel very comfortable and takes the time to listen to your concerns. I have never felt this open with any of my doctors prior to Dr John. To speak as to how great this place is, I moved for about 4 months to San Antonio and I drove up to Austin for a doctor's appointment.

Most compassionate doctor I've ever met

I've been seeing Dr. John since I moved to Austin in '98. I would never consider another doctor for primary care. The key word is CARE. He truly does care. He takes time to really talk to you and LISTEN. I highly recommend him. He's got a great staff, too. And a wonderful new location on Jollyville Road.
