Not just a shop but an inspiration!

I am an artistic director for a local theater in Georgetown and I drive to south Austin frequently to find those special items that only Bazaar has in stock. I do shop on-line but I find the prices comparable to on-line and you have that wonderful option of standing there and holding the object while new ideas whirl around your mind. The staff is wonderful and supportive without being intrusive. Though I am insanely busy I actually look forward to the trip knowing I will find that item I need and 3 more that I didn't know I needed until I stood there.

• Cons: Re-order could be faster

The staff is what makes this place so wonderful. You get one-on-one service from a helpful and knowledgeable person without the hassle of someone trying to upsell all the time.

Great source for theatrical makeup and accessories.

I've had difficulty keeping track of quality suppliers of theatrical costume and makeup supplies here in Austin. Several have closed on me and ultimately lead me here. They have a good general supply of theatrical makeup as well as other accessories. Every time I go in people are very helpful. Bazaar has been around long enough that I don't expect them to close on me any time soon. It's worth a trip from Cedar Park to me when I need the good stuff. It's certainly worth a look for you.

Just one block east of IH-35 sits a mecca of affordable costume possibilities.

Since 1966, Bazaar Back Stage has offered everything necessary to turn oneself into a master of disguise. Get outfitted from head to toe with tiaras and fishnet hose, top hats, poodle skirts and makeup galore. When that doesn't work, check out the mustaches and wigs. The only two costumes available for rent are a Santa suit and a bunny outfit, but prices are low enough to make buying easy.
