I send my 8 year old daughter as well to the Golden Vista Equestrian Camp and it was the most wonderful and rewarding experience for her. After she successfully completed the beginner Camp she asked to go back for 2 more weeks for the Intermediate Camp. We now ride every weekend out at our ranch and I am just amazed how much my daughter learned in those four weeks. What I found prior to sending my daughter to Camp (by doing my research and actually visiting Golden Vista) was an extremely professional and knowledgeable staff. As a parent however what was and is most important to me is safety. The staff at Golden Vista impressed me on how they focused on the safety of the children. The other part that is so critical in Camp is the discipline of the children. Taking care of 1200 pound animals is very serious business. My advice to any parent is that before you send your child to a camp, and especially one that involves horses, you take look and check them out before hand. Golden Vista provided my daughter with an experience that will last us a life time and she will be back this summer again. I highly recommend them!
