Really great place and some good white sauce pizza

by LAngus

My boyfriend and I found this place by mistake one day looking around the strip mall. The interior has a dainty homemade Italian feel and the people who work there are very friendly. We tried their white sauce pizza which we loved! The second time I tried their Chicken Parmesan, that was good too, but I really suggest going for the pizza!

Great People Bad Pizza

by ATXfoodtaster

I happened to stumble upon this location on a lunch break. There were lots of people hanging around and chatting with what seemed to be the owner or the owner's family which indicates they have a steady clentele. Everyone looks nice and friendly. Unfortunately when I actually tried my two slices of pizza I was disappointed. The pizza looks like NY style, but doesn't even come close to it in flavor. The bread was sort of hard and not crunchy. The tomato sauce was way too tangy.

Because they were so friendly, and it looks like it could have potential, I'll go one more time to try out the pasta. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

  • Pros: Good People
  • Cons: Bad pizza - Mediocre salad

Great Italian option

by Jesse5050

I have been there about 3 times, the last being last Saturday. I was very happy with the Pepperoni and black olive pizza. I have had the chicken dishes and been very happy with them. It is becoming one of my favorite italian places.

  • Pros: Not as noisy as some places. Good food, great service
  • Cons: Not open on Sunday

Tasty, but.....

by irishindc71

Ate at Reale's the other night. At the time, the food was reasonably tasty. That night, however, my wife had a little intestinal discomfort. We weren't able to verify the cause, so we chalked it up to the great unknown. I had the leftovers today, however, a short 2 1/2 days later. Despite the refrigeration, this caused me substantial problems.

Maybe it was an off night. Maybe we ordered the wrong item. Regardless, we won't be going back.

  • Pros: Nice people
  • Cons: Illness

Good service, but the food just doesn't measure up to these reviews

by ohyeahlach

I must have a high standard of Italian food growing up in Chicago... after reading these reviews I was excited to try this place. The pizza wasn't good, the pasta was average... just not what I anticipated after

reading this websites comments. Rudino's is the closest we can come to Chicago pizza. This place had a crust like carboard and the sauce just didn't have much flavor.

I had the fruit of the sea pasta dish, and all I could taste was fish with no added flavors. The menu said it was with a garlic sauce, yet I could taste absolutely no garlic. A friend ordered a dish that was swimming in oil. Their breadsticks taste like bread and butter... no garlic, no salt. Salad was average... lettuce with 1 cucumber slice and some red onion. Nothing spectacular and the prices are on the high side.

I will say the service was very good and everyone was friendly.

  • Pros: Service
  • Cons: Cardboard tasting crust on pizza.. pasta just average, high prices

Reale's is a treat!

by jamieestrada

I've been going to visit Bob, Gino and Tina for as long as I can remember. My father has been their contracted handyman since I was 8 years young. I went to high school with Tina and last night I was at the birthday party of Jasmine Brown whom was a long time waitress there before she became a mother. To keep it simple, this is a family restaurant. Ginos' inviting smile and firm handshake is almost always followed by a question about my family and how things are going. I think the same CD has been on rotation since the opening of the latest location, yet I never have to listen to it due to the chatty waitstaff or the witty laughter at the bar. Their slogan "Your home away from Rome" hit's the head on the nail! I have nothing to say about the food because it speaks for itself. Flip a coin, let it land on the menu and fate will leave you full, cheery and heartfully satisfied. If you've never eaten there, it'll just make my wait for a table that much shorter!

  • Pros: The chef salad is so simple you'll never figure out why you can't replicate it at home. I think they're made with googles of pride and respect for quality which shines in the staff.
  • Cons: OPEN ON SUNDAY GINO!!!!!!

BEST PIZZA ANYWHERE IN THIS TOWN!!!

by mjk1

I love this place! Their pizza (order it crispy), baked ziti, manicotti, spinach ravioli, lasagna, meatball subs (get lot's of napkins), are awsome! They have live entertainment on wednesdays ( a Sinatra singer) and thursdays (a guy who plays a balikia?). Great food, great service, family owned and operated. The owner, Bob Reale, will sometimes sit at your table, and tells some great stories. You've gotta try this place!!

  • Pros: Everything
  • Cons: They're not open Sundays

A cafe-style eatery with reliable, soul-soothing Italian food.

by Contributor

In Short
Rickety patio tables, menus encased in plastic (for easy tomato-sauce removal), chatty waiters and dim lighting make for a cozy atmosphere. The boot-shaped map of Italy, colored in red and green, is prominently displayed on the wall. The seafood linguine is all clams, mussels and scallops tossed with the thin pasta, swimming in a spicy tomato-based sauce. The pizza and the eggplant Parmesan sub sandwiches are layered with cheese. Cannoli are prepared as you order.

Really the best pizza in town

by fantasycritic

A friend from New York recommended Reale's, and even though I live South of the river, I keep coming back...the cheese, the sauce, the crust...I don't know but it is a magical combination!

  • Pros: great pizza!
