Classy and Comfortable

Recently, we had our wedding reception at the Balcones Clubhouse. The professional staff did a superior job and provided friendly, exceptional service. I had absolutely no worries on the wedding day and felt comfortable everything was taken care of. The food was delicious and all of our guests had an amazing time. It was a hole in one! I've played golf at BCC before and love the course. Its well kept and groomed, and the staff for the course is just as wonderful as the staff at the clubhouse retreat. I highly recommend Balcones Country Club for golfing, special events, food, or just spending time by the pool.

Great golf for your buck

I have played both courses at Balcones Country Club as a guest a handful of times and like both for the different challenges they present. The front nine at Balcones is fun, but the back nine is extremely demanding, absolutely fantastic. I like the Spicewood course even more. It offers very good holes that test your imagination and shot making abilities. I found the staff to be very professional and courteous. They did not make me feel like I was walking on egg shells. I sometimes feel that way with some of the other stuffy golf courses in Austin. They treated me with respect and gratitude. Overall I highly recommend this country club to anyone who enjoys the great game of golf and would recommend joining. It is the best golfing experience in Austin for the money and I have played nearly every course in and around Austin.

Best TWO course Country Club in Austin!

The course and staff are exceptional. Good time had by all. Frequently, I take guest to celebrate special occassions such as birthdays and anniversaries. The food service and quality are well complimented.

Golf is our favorite! Having a choice of TWO beautiful courses to play is a treat for Austin! The pro staff always make it an enjoyable time and exercise superior course management. The members are all conscientious of time of play and you can easily play 18 in 3.5 hours!

Keep up this great Austin landmark and facility -- it is one of the best! Carol M, Austin

scenic golf north west austin

I recently played out at the spicewood course at Balcones Country Club. I would like to commend the cheerful staff for accomadating my party. We had a fabulous time at this facility set in the hills of north west austin. Unlike most courses in austin we played 18 holes in 3 and a half hours. The only draw back was the food pricing in the grill, but it is a private club so it wasn't a shock.

Very layed back club

I was actually surprised when I visited this club as a guest a few times, and will more than likely not return, and definitely will not become a member. Although this club does have some good points as far as being layed back, I was very uncomfortable with what management allows employees to get away with. I heard a younger employee yelling at an older employee and using foul language to him. I have seen this same younger employee attempt to belittle others on numerous occassions. What is so sad about this situation, is that upper management was right there, and didn't do anything about it. I personally don't want anything to do with a business, privately owned or otherwise, that allows employees to act in such an unprofessional manner, and disrespect others this way.
