I paid $30 a night for a room that I would easily pay $100 for. Room was very clean, bed comfortable, staff friendly. Great location. No complaints!
Wonderful staff. We stayed here because of the previous positive reviews and were very happy. The owner of this property is in the building most days taking care of his investment. His pride of ownership shows in a well-maintained building and a wonderful staff. Add in the free breakfast and a happy hour from 5.30 to 7 each evening and you have what all hotels should be but most are not.…
Excellent Stay. This property seems to be relatively well kept , clean and quiet. We stayed one night and I got a real good nights sleep. The free breakfast was excellent. The hotel staff were very helpful, couterious and friendly. The hotel is located as named "centeral" making it fairly easy for shopping and dining. Yes we would stay here again and are looking forward to have another pleasent stay.…
Clean and Comfortable. Stayed at The Ramada for one night. The draw of this place is the low rate (we paid $70/night) for a centralized location in Austin. The rooms were dated but clean, beds were extremely comfortable. The free breakfast in the morning included hot items like sausage, ham, biscuits & gravy, eggs, and hash browns. Free wi-fi was easy to connect to and very fast. Overall very pleased with my stay and I would definitely pick this hotel again for the value it offers.…
Accessible from the freeway!. I stayed at this hotel while visiting Austin for a convention. The location was a bit confusing the first time, but its actually quite accessible from the freeway. The room was quite spacious and had a large TV. The hotel has a great hot breakfast every morning. There was a manager's reception in the evenings where drinks and snacks were free to all guests. The IHOP next door is good for eating out. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.…
Bedbugs!.
My girlfriend and I stayed here ACL weekend, and thought that the hotel was nice enough. About 24 hours after leaving the hotel, we both started itching all over. Soon, raised red bumps appeared all
over our bodies, probably 15-20 total each. After doing some research, we found that they were indeed BEDBUG bites.
We contacted Ramada corporate, who told us to speak with the manager, Sam Wilson. A few days later, we received a letter from Mr. Wilson basically passing the buck. He stated that others had stayed in the room after us and had not reported bedbugs. He offered no sort of refund, grievance or apology other than a weak "thank you for staying with us and we trust you otherwise enjoyed your stay".
I spoke with him recently, and he remained in denial about the situation simply stating that there must be some other reason that we developed begbug bites. He even admitted that they had a bedbug infestation 6 months ago which he said "had been dealt with"!
I cannot fathom where else we could have developed bedbugs that weekend other than the hotel we slept in. Ramada's refusal to right the situation has led me to post my review on various sites so that others can be made aware of their lackluster customer service.
Beware of the bedbugs!…
Drury Inn - Highland Mall - Great Value.
I've know about the Drury Inn chain for a few years now, and when makeing hotel reservations for some of my former co-workers had put them at the Drury and had gotten rave reviews. However I had not
stayed at one myself until I decided to move to Austin. I traveled by car from San Diego, stopping in several cities - the Drury Inn at Highland Mall is the second Drury I've stayed at on this trip however it's really nice! It was easy to find, all the staff have been very helpful and even has offered tips on helping me find an apartment. The General Manager is a lovely lady who takes time to talk with her guests and make them feel at home. And there was no problem when I needed to extend my stay with them!
I highly recommend the Drury Inn at Highland Mall (the other one has sold, so this is the only one in town now). You can't beat the price, the rooms or the additional items like a cooked hot breakfast nor the managers social each day.
Check to see if their is a Drury Inn Hotel where you travel next! You will be a convert also!…
Family-owned hotel chain brings low-cost comfort to weary travelers..
In Short
Since the mid-20th century, this Southeast Missouri chain has offered comfortable and stylish hotels at an affordable price. With more than 100 locations across the Heartland, they
are popular among families and business workers who have come to expect standard amenities such as free local calls, parking, Internet access and breakfasts. Fax services, meeting rooms and standard fitness centers and pools are also common features.…
