Sneaky, Rude, and Dishonest

we rented a van from them on halloween @ 2pm... said it had to be back by 2pm the next day.. (sunday).. of which they are not "open" on...

so, we get the van back literally right after 5pm on the van's clock...

they told us on saturday since they weren't open on sunday we could get it back whenever around 2pm... so we did... just a couple of hours later..

i go to check my balance in my account and its $200 LESS than expected.. there's a charge for $176 and then 3 over-drafts for every time my bank tried to run the additional $85 that should not have been charged...

i look and sure enough Longhorn Rentals had charged me for TWO DAYS rental.. and caused my account to over-draft (thank you a$$holes)....

i called to inquire WHY.. and they gave me the run-around.. i was passed to FOUR DIFFERENT people, having to give the same thoughtful explanation four times,.. (real awesome customer service here... omg!

... before finally getting this jesse person.. who tells me that they wrote down the van was not returned until 6:45am on MONDAY.. MONDAY... didn't state that it was returned a mere two hours late.. just charged us for a full day... EXTRA..

i asked if their policy was to charge people for a full day if they are slightly late and if so i would take my business elsewhere..

"jesse" got flustered and yelled @ me saying that if was going to threaten him that we had no way of resolving anything...

i did not THReATEN *YOU* jesse.. i said i would TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE if your policy is to charge people a full day for being a couple of hours late.. on the day of dalylight savings fall-back, after having been up all night working.. and on a SUNDAY, when i was told was less of a big deal on return.....

that is my right.. as a customer who was misled and over-charged, to say i am not going to take my business there any more..

so yes... LONGHORN... you have lost a customer .. a loyal one, also... i have been going there for years and have now stopped..

i hope that others reading this take their business elsewhere also... so as to avoid the same pitfalls and dishonesty as i have received from them..

good luck longhorn with your dishonest policies and lack of customer service...

Best place in town to rent any vehicle

My wife and I moved recently from Dripping Springs to Johnson City. We checked out our options with the "big boys", even in our home town, and then saw an ad on TV about Longhorn Rental. Thank goodness for seeing that ad!!! We called them and reserved a 24' truck for several days and were given all the details concerning their policies and requirements for renting from them. I had them repeat the cost for mileage because it was six times less than the other guys, which was going to be an incredible difference in our total rental expense.

When we arrived the people were busy but very attentive and they were extremely pleasant. The rental was exactly as it had been discribed and the truck was freshly washed and ready to go. Best part about renting the truck other than the mileage cost difference was that it had a powerlift instead of a ramp.

The truck worked great and we moved and then brought the truck back one day early. Again the people at the desk were extremely pleasant and they refunded the difference for returning one day early without a hitch! We saved several hundred dollars by making that call! I will never go anywhere else but Longhorn for any rental needs every again. They were much better than we had expected and made a very difficult move as good as it could have possilby been. I have told a dozen people about our experience at Longhorn Rental and I will tell dozens more because people need to know about the incredible service that is offered here. A++++++++

WOW What great service and what a Great Van

I showed up at LongHorn rentals to rent a 15 passenger van and was greeted by very nice counter staff. They smiled as I entered and got my van rental taken care of very quickly. When I returned the van it was even easier than picking it. They were alot less expensive than everywhere else and the van was new and extremely clean. I highly recomend LongHorn rentals to everyone looking for a fast and friendly car rental agency.

bad first impression

i walked into longhorn rentals happy to be able to support a local business. however the employee i had to deal with seemed very agitated with my needs. i became tired of his tone of speech and walked out and rode the bus home to north austin. i will not return.

Fantastic Experience!

I tried renting from a larger company but I sat on hold for over half an hour only to be told that the vehicle I needed was not available for the time I needed. Longhorn gave me a quote and reserved my vehicle in under 5 minutes! They were fast and friendly throughout the check in and out process, and the van I rented was very clean. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for an easy and satisfying car rental experience!

Excellent company

I have rented from Longhorn for the last 2 1/2 years and each time has been as pleasant as the time before. I have rented trucks, mini vans and cars and each time the process went smoothly, the cost was within reason and the staff always went out of their way to help me. They always had my reservation ready with minimum wait time. Any time I was running late all I had to do is call and they worked with me. I have rented with other companies and this one is by far the best. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

WORST PLACE EVER!!!!!

I chose this place because it opened at 7:30am and I had to be at work at 8:30am. Well, they didnt even open until after 7:45am. Then at 8:10am they told me that they could not take my visa debit card either cause they dont accept any type of debit card. So they basically left me stranded and would not help me at all and were very rude. So now I had 20 minutes to get to work on the other side of town with no car. No customer service at all. I would never use them in a million years. Saving $5 here is not worth being two hours late to work and being treated so unprofessionally! I should have read the last users review before going there!

Courteous, friendly, professional staff

Have a superintendent working in Austin and his truck broke down. Was able to quickly locate truck at Lonestar and the staff was polite, friendly and extremely accommodating.

GREAT SERVICE and NICE VEHICLE!!

I needed to move and had reserved a truck with U-Haul, but when I got to the location (on my moving day) they had nothing for me. I needed a truck fast and called Longhorn for a pickup. I was very pleased. They were completely accommodating and gave me a great truck at a cheap price! They were also very flexible with the timing of return.

I will ALWAYS use them from now on and recommend them highly!!! Thanks Longhorn!!
