Thanks Dr. Jackson!
by long48 at Citysearch
Melee is sooooo much better. When I noticed she was acting strange, I didnt know how I was going to explain it. Dr. Jackson sat down with me and helped me figure out exactly what I was noticing. She was walking slower, not jumping, peeing outside the litterbox. Little things like that. Nothing big. I figured noone would understand. Dr. Jackson looked her over thoroughly and did some x-rays. Sure enough she had a ruptured disk. It could have gotten so much worse, but thankfully Dr. Jackson was kind enough to listen and get to the bottom of the problem. I would recommend her clinic above all others I have been to.
Unprofessional and Unethical?
by MsCGraham at Citysearch
After doing some research on a new vet for my puppy I came across many bad reviews of this vet office. Most unprofessional was the extremely unprofessional and rude responses by the office staff and/or doctors to the negative comments.
I have to tend to doubt that the good reviews are legitimate positive reviews and predict that they may have been created by the office personnel so force a positive rating. Unfortunate and unethical - not a company I would like to do business, and definitely not a vet I would bring a loved pet to.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Unprofessional.

the rest
Vet and technicians are people just like you putting up with pain in the butt animals. Just because your animal is screaming and jumping around on the table scratching and bruising the technician doesnt mean we dont care for your animal...we have a job to do and we will do whatever we can to get it done. There is a lot of work put into taking care of your animal and the vets and techs would like a little respect. I know, i am a tech.
thanks
Superlative, compassionate pet care

It is a pleasure to commend the staff of McNeil Crossing Animal Clinic for their exemplary care of my beloved German Shepherd Dog, Thori. From reception to medical history to physical exam to follow-up phone calls, every person in this clean, modern, well-looked after clinic has made Thori (and me) feel welcome and well-cared for. Dr. Elissa Jackson has treated Thori with the utmost gentleness and compassion, especially during some (necessarily) uncomfortable procedures. In addition, Dr. Jackson's exams are extremely thorough, her diagnoses and proscribed treatments are always carefully explained to me, and her use of medications is restrained yet effective. This lady and her colleagues CARE, and Thori and I know it!
- Pros: No wait time, very thorough exams, genuine care and concern, clean and up-to-date clinic
- Cons: None
The Best Value Vet in Town
by tjtemebel at Citysearch
I am so happy that i found this vet clinic. This days it is hard to find a bargain - i found great care at a very reasonable price. I shopped on the phone and compared exam prices and rabies. They are the cheapest in town so i went there.
I was very impressed from the place, they seem small from the outside but they are so high tech. They love animals, you can see that from the way they great my dog as he enter the door. The stuff is very friendly and always in a good mood. You can tell that they love their job. Dr Jackson was very nice and took her time to answer all my question. Not only that they did not rush me in and out, they really cared that i will know what i need to know about raising a dog. Since it is my first dog and the shelter did not give me any tips it took them quite a while to educate me; but they did not care. They even looked up some stuff for me on their computer system.
Those days, when most doctors see you as a $$$, its really nice to know that there are some good ones left that practice quality medicine with the need of the animal in mind and not the wallet of the owner.
Highly reccomended.
- Pros: High tech, good medicine, low prices.
- Cons: Not open Sunday
High quality vet clinic

This is a real nice clinic. The receptionist was really friendly & efficient. The location is convenient to get to. Dr Jackson is very thorough in her exam. It is evident that she really cares about my cat & very knowledgeable about how to deal with difficult patients. The technician was very helpful & right there when she was needed. They have top of the line equipment incase we ever need it. Nice clean neat place. Price was reasonable.
- Pros: efficient, friendly, caring, top notch
Excellent Care, Dr. Jackson really cares.

I recently needed a dental for my 10 yr. old retriever Sam. I hadn't been to McNeil Crossing before, but I was checking prices. I asked the receptionist if she could give me a quote, she explained that giving me an estimate over the phone is usually inaccurate especially without ever meeting Sam. She said they never treat anesthetic procedures as routine. She offered a FREE consultation for Sam and I, to listen to his heart, and look at his teeth. When I went in Dr. Jackson spent 30 minutes going over everything with me and explaining everything on my quote, she helped me tailor it down to something I could afford and was safe for Sam. I was amazed at the level of care she had for each individual patient. Most vets treat it as though they want to rush you in and out as fast as possible. I'm sure that there are other places in town who are cheaper , but I would hate to think of what corners they are cutting. You can go to a place that rushs you in and out and gets the job done for 200 dollars but you have to think about if thats what is best for your kids. I love Sam to much to just do the bare minimum. I found that the prices at Mcneil Crossing Animal Clinic were not only some of the cheapest in Austin!!! But for the level of care you receive the value is great! Thank You Dr. Jackson for all of your help and Sam's teeth look great!!
- Pros: Caring staff, and Dr. Jackson is very patient
- Cons: ??
Not a good experience!!!
by k_thrift at Citysearch
I ran across the response to one of my reviews from last year. It is upsetting that a business would react this way to an honest posting and treat me this way (and use my full name in response). This is supposed to be a safe format for feedback and it is not legal to use someone's full name in this manner. With that said, I did have a bad experience and I voiced that. I thought I was going to see one vet and was confused when that wasn't the case. I was just in a month before and there was no mention of needing to schedule additional tests. My dog has had seizures for several years now so this isn't new to me and I had a great relationship with my previous vet. I was in a situation where I did run very low on medicine and wasn't able to get him in that quickly to get it refilled b/c of business travel. I explained my situation, asked if I could at least get a few until I could get him back in. I love my dog very much and any insinuation that I don't take care of him is very upsetting. It wasn't that I was looking for something for free but I was looking for a solution to help until I could get him in (and with his condition, I wanted one vet that knew him and his history...not having to explain it new each time). I was new to the area and it is hard to find a vet that you feel good about. So it wasn't a fit for me. I felt like I didn't receive compasion and I voiced my opinion and went else where. I really don't think it warranted such a response from the company. I also really love the fact that the response from the company is not true. I was not told a month earlier that I needed more tests nor did I wait a year before getting tests done nor did I ever say I wasn't happy with my previous vet. I was with my previous vet for years before my move. And my new vet is great--I even get postcard reminders of upcoming needs. It is more of a partnership. Wow, did I ever say the vet gave my dog seizures!
Nicest Staff around
by lasw at Citysearch
My dog is very sensitive and hated going to the vet. He would cry and growl at the old vet as soon as he walked in the room because he was never kind to him. We came to Mc.Neil Crossings because it was close to our home and I knew we I could no longer bring my dog to such an inconsiderate clinic. The experiences we have had could not be better. The staff is amazing and treats him with respect and care because of this my dog no longer minds going to the vet. It has been a huge relief for my dog and I.
Best vet in Austin - great service and low prices.
by borl787 at Citysearch
I moved there after some bad experiences with other vets in the area.
You can?t help but seeing the difference ? clean place, friendly service. The new vet practice advance medicine. My dog had skin problems for years and she got it cleared in about 3 weeks. My old vet had me spend thousands of dollars and got me nowhere. Dr Z. used a slightly more expensive medicine that actually worked!!!
As far as the cost, I shopped around and they are one of the cheapest in town. MY annuals came 50 dollar cheaper than the last time I was in Banfield. And I bought my Frontline at a cheaper price than pet med.
Vet care today is a real expense, especially to someone on a tight budget like me. That?s why its great to find a vet that really care about my animals while working to lower the prices.
- Pros: Low Prices , Great Doctor
