Great place to shop

I got a pair of tennis shoes from Karavel August, 2008 for my son because he walks on the sides of his feet alot and I needed a good pair of orthopedic shoes. The shoes were great, the customer service was fantastic and the shoes I bought are still good with no holes in them or nothing. For the price, they are worth it because I was going thru a pair of shoes every other month for my son who walks on the sides of his feet - these shoes were from Wal-mart, Payless, Target, all the cheap stores. Yes it is very pricey but well worth it in the long run.

worse website ever

never saw such a worthless website....get somebody to run the site....in business 70 years and can't even see a pair of shoes on the site. Sheesh

Great store, but be prepared for the price

Slowly but surely, Karavel has become the only place I will shop for shoes. There are cheaper shoe stores, but experience has proven to me that the brands they carry at Karavel last the longest and fit the best, meaning cheaper in the end.

Although Karavel advertises "comfort" shoes, these are not the shoes that your great grandmother wore. The styles are the latest, and the customer service is amazing.

Best Shoe Store in Central Texas

FABULOUS staff -- these people really know feet, and really know shoes. Some very high-end stuff, and THE place to get that pair of dress shoes for your very-wide or very-narrow feet.

Honestly, I'd given up on ever wearing nice dress shoes or sandals before I happened upon Karavel. Had resigned myself to wearing kind of orthopedic-looking things because I have very wide feet. But now I can wear pretty shoes! And pretty sandals! Because I can find ones that fit me! At Karavel!

They have podiatrists on staff and a full selection of orthotics available -- to prevent that hammer toe from ever forming in the first place, for example.

Comfort Heaven

I have never seen a massive variety of quality shoes like this. I will warn you, there is alot to choose from and everything is equally comfortable. The customer service is great, so take advantage of it. They helped me find exactly what I needed.

Best shoe selection in town and outstanding service

Do you ever wonder what happened to good customer serivce? I often do and am always impressed with the service I get at Karavel. They measure your foot and look at how you stand/walk. Then they listen to what kind of shoe you are wanting. I always find the perfect shoe that looks great, I can wear all day and is the best support for my foot. Wearing an 11narrow shoe with flat feet, I am usually disappointed when I go shoe shopping, but Karavel always has something for me. I can get my New Balances, dress shoes, work boots, and look at the sales all while staying in the same place. And if you get help in the New Balance area, they will let the people in the dress shoes know what you are needing. I always get the feeling that the employees are more concerned about you being happy and comfortable then making a sale.

If you have orthodics, Karavel will help you find a shoe that it works in. Also, if you feel you need more support and aren't ready for the orthodics you get from the doctor, Karavel has a wide range of inserts for every kind of shoe.

If you are wanting shoes the cost and quality of what you find at wally-world, you will get sticker shock here. The shoes are not cheap, but they are excellent quality, very comfortable and you will have them for years and years and love them!!

This year, i got rid of my hurt-y heels, and replaced them with many pairs of beautiful, well-priced european comfortable heels from Karavel. No more uncomfortable shoes for me! There are several comfort shoe stores in Austin: Karavel is the best because they know how to really fit you and make sure the shoe will not give you problems after you buy them. I bought a beautiful pair of Danskos from another place and while i was walking around Europe, these shoes gave me blisters. I took this pair of shoes to Karavel, and the kind staff gave me some inserts. They made the shoes fit, blister free.

I would like to encourage young guys to shop here, too, because they have all widths and sizes up to 16, and sometimes its really hard to find comfortable, hip shoes for my guy friends.

Behind Karavel, in the same complex, they have a half price store called Shoe Styles. I usually stop in to see whats on sale before going up to the main store. This store is open Thurs, Fri, and Sat.. They have the previous season shoes on sale. Its a good bet all year.

• Cons: they turned me into a foot fetishist

Great customer service

Karavel is Great! They will measure your feet and get you the shoes YOU want. No pressure to buy something you dont need. I work in a restaurant and love the Dansko shoes they carry. My feet never hurt after work anymore. The sales people are very helpful and make you feel very comfortable. They sell comfort shoes for all ages, not just grandma.
