The smallest portions in Austin.... If you want to overpay for good chinese go to suzis.
by Tex1234
Food was very good but portions were riduculously small. IT was like they now take one entree and split into two.
If I wanted a kids meal.. i would have ordered a kids meal.
Kim Son or China Garden much better way to go.
Shame on you Suzis.
Tex
- Pros: good food
- Cons: cost, portion size small
Suzi's is okay!
by Leelee84
I would recommend this place for lunch only! All lunch specials come with a dish, your choice of soup, egg roll or crab rangoon, and rice! Prices are fairly decent at lunch.
- Pros: Great lunch menu
- Cons: customer service is okay, not the best!
Ughh...not very good

Went with my boyfriend on a recent Friday night...we are not super picky eaters and we were disappointed by Suzi's. Tried to order steamed veggie dumplings and were told that it would take 20 minutes. So we ordered the fried spring rolls instead. They were decent, if a little greasy, so we were hopeful about our entrees.
We ordered:
-Shrimp with Basil sauce: seemed to be fresh ingredients, but the sauce was tar-like and overly salty. Kind of a turn-off.
-Sesame Chicken: I know, not very adventurous, but it's a good test of a Chinese restaurant's skill. Instead of the desired crispy and succulent, it came to us dense and dry. Also floating in a thick sauce that didn't seem to have much of a flavor except salty.
-Sauteed mixed veggies with tofu: we requested light sauce, but it came to us floating in overly salty sauce anyhow. Vegetables were edible (a bit overcooked), but I actually had to eject the tofu out! It had a weird, non-food flavor...or maybe it was unfresh.
Too expensive for low quality! I could give it another chance, but I'd rather go to Din Hoh (citysearch won't allow the real name for some reason) or even Pei Wei. At least the food is fresh and has flavor other than salt.
- Pros: spacious, ample seating, decent service
- Cons: sub-par quality, expensive
In Protest of Suzi's
by colleenrose
Maybe she's not aware but...
As much as I have enjoyed Suzi's china restaurants I was very saddened and disappointed to see that Suzi's serves Shark Fin soup. Something I hadn't noticed before. On my way to Japan I watched a documentary on this horrific and cruel trade where as the Sharks are taken from the sea, their fins are cut off while they are still alive then thrown (discarded) back to the sea where they sink to the bottom and drown. Tens of thousands of sharks die each year to this practice.
To see this "soup" being sold anywhere let alone in Austin, a city with a conscience, is very distressing. I will not be eating at Suzi's or any other restaurant that participates, by serving, in this cruel, wasteful and unnecessary trade. It is my hope that Suzi will remove this item from her menu's.
Outstanding wonton soup
by clq
We go to Suzi's on a regular basis because the food is great, the service is good and the atmosphere is nice. They have the best wonton soup I've had and the Basil Garlic Shrimp is excellent.
It's also really fast - you can go in for lunch or dinner pretty much any day of the week and have a great meal in a short amount of time.
I highly recommend checking Suzi's out the next time you're craving Chinese food.
- Pros: Good, fresh Chinese food in a nice setting

In Short
The interior is sleek, post-modern, large and pleasant. You can sit at the bar by the open kitchen, in the vinyl-covered booths, at regular tables or out at the small patio. Everywhere is the feeling of space, even when the restaurant's packed for lunch. Both carnivores and vegetarians will be satisfied by the menu. The vegetarian plates include deep-fried home-style bean curd. The meats include a sweet roast pork and a spicy kung pao chicken.
The sushi here is not very good
by lsdevine
The sushi tasted chlorinated and the noodles we ordered were bland and very soggy. I will not be eating here again.
lousy chinese food
by goats_milk
My girlfriend and I ordered mostly from the Chinese menu and it wasn't terrible but it was very unexciting. The Firecracker Prawns, for example, were just prawns with diced raw onion and slightly spicy bright red sweet & sour sauce. I also had a couple of pieces of sushi, which were pretty good. We might go back again to try more sushi, but we won't be going back for Chinese food.
- Pros: attractive space
- Cons: lousy chinese food, brusk service
Very Very Good
by chucknorris
Very Very Good, exceptionally high quality food, preperation and presentation are as good as it gets in Austin. Service was also very crisp and efficient. Portion sizes were perfect and flavors were properly executed and well balanced. Also features an excellent atmosphere. An exceptionally pleasent dining experience , is somewhat more expensive than many other chinese restaurants in Austin, but well worth the extra money. A very good place to entertain a date, family, clients or out of town company.
- Pros: Good Parking, groups
Very "American"
by texascinzia
This food was fancy and looked pretty but wasn't very "Chinese." But it's a safe place to eat if you're not an experienced Chinese food afficionado.
- Pros: Atmosphere
