Not like a hotel

While my room was not perfect, I was very much pleased with the hotel. I was in Austin for 6 days for some medical tests. Because the "room" consisted of a bedroom, living room, kitchen with eating area, and of course a bathroom, it was not your standard small cramped hotel room. It was an apartment. And being away from home for all that time, and during a tense time, this was the perfect choice for me.

Also, every morning the comfortable eating area near the hotel office offered a full breakfast. Bacon and eggs, cereal and toast, muffins and bagels, pancakes and waffles, sausages, juice. All part of the standard fee.

No, this wasn't a 5 star hotel and there were small details that needed attending to. For example, after flushing, the toilet would fill, the water would stop, but apparently there was a small leak and then the toilet would fill again a few minutes later. But one phone call fixed this.

I'd recommend this hotel for anyone.

• Pros: Location, room size, breakfast, comfort.
• Cons: Some small details due to the place not being brand new. Nothing to turn me away.

Great Apartment Rooms, Great Breakfast

I have stayed here alot with my better half. We have never had any problem what so ever. The staff is always helpful and nice. The rooms are actual full size apartments, sometimes we get one with a fireplace. Full size kitchen with oven! Always clean and well maintained. Comes completely equipped. I will always stay here when in Austin, I have no reason to search anywhere else. Also, they have a free breakfast buffet that is one of the best in town and at night a free happy hour. What more could you ask for! Thumbs up!

• Pros: Its like staying at an apartment except they cook your breakfast!
• Cons: when it rains there are some large puddles you may have to cross getting to your room.

Summerfield Suites - Austin

Because our daughter is a senior at UT, we've spent lots of time in Austin. We've stayed a number of nice & bad places, but this all-suites hotel is the BEST WHOOPPEE FOR YOUR BUCK. We're in the room so seldom, we just want a place that's cheap, clean, & conveniently located. Summerfield Suites is located just off Mo-Pac... need I say more? Contrary to what some websites say, they DO NOT HAVE VHS MOVIES. So, plan ahead & bring your own, because they don't have Pay-Per-View or movie channels either. However, the bed & pillows are comfy enough, the place is clean as a whistle, parking is convenient, and they have a full kitchen that is adequately (if not sparsley) stocked. I always check my bill before & during checkout and haven't had any surprises as yet. Great for when you need to stay more than a few days.

All-suite convenience with lots of amenities.

Tucked on the north side of the city, this property is less than a 10-minute drive from The University of Texas campus and State Capitol complex. This property is a favorite with business travelers because of its proximity to many of Austin's high-tech companies. Amenities such as high-speed Internet connections, meeting space and a full-business center are available. A full hot breakfast is complimentary and a social hour is hosted Monday through Thursday.

stay at your own risk

My family and I had an awful experience at this hotel. We stayed there and checked out as normal, then a couple of weeks later, were billed over $500 by mistake. When we noticed this on our statement, we contacted the hotel immediately. They referred us to the accouting dept. which did not return our calls. We tried to contact the manager of the hotel who was never available. After four days of inaction, we contacted the Wyndham national customer satisfaction number and a week later received a refund. The hotel manager had the nerve to ask us to never step foot in his hotel again. Rest assured, we will not.

• Cons: poor quality of staff, rude hotel manager, inept accouting dept.
