Paul's the Best - 5 yrs running
by vaderca
from the time 5 yrs ago, when I brought Paul my kawi 750 for fresh tires. To now, as my 08 Concours 14 sits at his shop waiting for pickup by the salvage pool (Thanks to the A-Hole drunk driver at Rundberg and I35 - Who left BTW); Paul has been an asset. from great prices, and service, to sound advice and diagnostics, he's been able to do everything I've needed from a bike mechanic.
He's had his hands on, and in, my Nighthawk, 750s, zrex, 98 Connie, and 08 Connie.
Paul runs a no nonsense, professional, RESULTS BASED Shop, in a city where too many bike owners Feel the need to be stroked, coddled, and worshiped for riding a BMW, Ducati, Triumph, or other overpriced/target marketed brand.
You won't find carpet, plush seating, expresso and lattes in Paul's waiting area. You will find well thumbed bike mags of every genre, tire inventory, and the smell of gas, grease, and fresh rubber. Paul tells it like it is, his no 1 concern has always been the safety of the bike and rider, and his second has always been reliability - ever since i've known him.
I have been riding 30 yrs full time, 24/7 rain or shine, in both L.A. and Austin - I would never consider going any where else to have my bike repaired.
- Pros: Service, Price,Advice
- Cons: Be prepared to schedule appointment for work.
I don't expect an a$$ kissing, just some common curtesy

Every time I call, or stop by for any reason, I wonder who pooped in his toolbox to put him in that mood.
- Pros: Good work, fair prices and very knowledgable
- Cons: cranky, negative, unpleasant service

I brought my 125 two stroke cylinder to bored. Paul was great. He answered all my dumb questions, Im new to two strokes so I had some basic ones. Turn around was in the time frame I was told when I dropped it off. Cylinder came out great. Overall I was happy with service!
- Pros: Quick turn around, knowledgable and answered all my questions
- Cons: none for me
Down to earth, Quality work for all your motorcycle repairs
by tjrockit
I have taken my bike to Paul Zabor a few times now and have really appreciated the customer service and the quality of work. These are no nonsense guys and a little rough around the edges but do excellent work. If you come into their shop with a chip on your shoulder, you probably won't like them. If you treat them with respect, they will go out of their way to make sure you are serviced properly. There is a reason why they are constantly backed up on work. It's because they are really good and honest.
- Pros: Knowledgeable, fair pricing, honest, quality work
- Cons: Usually takes about a week to get your bike back because they are so backed up.
You are not paying him to kiss your a$$, you are paying him to fix your bike.

This guy is a no BS, tell you like it is mechanic and they are few and far between. If you want to be stroked, go to Woods or CTH and let them rub your ego, but if you want your bike repaired and want to have faith in the work done, go to Paul.
- Pros: honesty, very reasonable prices, high level of expertise
- Cons: none so far
Web Troll taking down local businesses
by paullee3570
I'm actually trying to use this service from City Search to look for repair work and I'm noticing a pattern in the reviews where a troll is leaving negative grades on several sites of local businesses. They keep changing their log-in name as it is someone who only leaves one review at a time. But every time they keep using the word "rude" over and over again in a very specific pattern. I'm seeing the same flamer on other businesses on city search. That's just not right.
- Pros: Good work
Great work
by limeydude
What can I say.
Paul, the owner, is great. They do champion work. I will never use Woods Honda again.
Zabors are fast, professional, inexpensive and friendly. They go above and beyond for you and my '93 wing is driving like friggin' new. Sweeeeeeeeeeeet!!!
Cheers from the Limey
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: Nothing
zen and the art of motorcyle maintenance
by shoesfromcows
I'm not sure what all these negative comments are about. I've gone there with my Ducati Monster and from day one I have been very pleased with the service. They do quality straight forward work. I used to work in a bike shop. From my experience, it's not unusual to have customers that are frustrated with the cost and time of a repair. These are usually people that have no concept of the work that is going into their bike. I suspect that those who left negative comments are just that type of person. Personally, I find it refreshing to go to an honest shop run by the guys who actually get their hands dirty and do the work.
- Pros: Immediatly get a straightforward answer
- Cons: none yet
Zabor's Cycle Repair Rocks!!!!!
by mcoker
These guys are awesome. They're not jerks, they just don't sugar coat and give it to you straight. They know motorcycles, dirt bikes, etc inside-and-out. I go in once or twice a year and they're always courteous, fast and HONEST. IMO, in any sort of repair business, honesty is the most important factor. For motorcycle repair, these guys are top notch. I even just stop by for questions/tips, and they never hesitate to help out. Two thumbs up.
And for what it's worth, they're the place to go for a motorcycle inspection. I've had 5 or 6 bikes inspected there, and it's never taken more than 5-10 minutes.
- Pros: Excellent expertise, friendly, cheap, HONEST
- Cons: none
