This is probably the best daycare in Austin. It is one of the few that are NAEYC accredited. The teachers are mostly loving, kind and attentive. After a bad experience at Children's Courtyard, Prodigy has been a blessing. I never have to worry about leaving the kiddo here - she is happy and content. She also learns a lot. I would ignore Kyennar's rant as this person obviously doesn't know what they are talking about. Classes in the walkways? Really? I wonder what all the classrooms are used for. Judging by kyennar's command of the language, reading and writing are not educational achievements that are prized very highly in the family. Prodigy was bought out some years ago by one of the large national conglomerates but still retains many of its original staff - many of whom have a long tenure there. At Children's courtyard, my child was bitten. abused and unhappy. This was never a problem at Prodigy. Better class of people and a much better run institution. The extracurricular activities are expensive but unnecessary as Prodigy is blessed with good, caring teachers who teach all the basic stuff that is so important at this age. By the time kids finish PreK, they are more advanced that many kindergarten kids in public schools.

Pros: High standards in everything.

Cons: Doesn't open until 7AM

We tried 3 other day cares before sending our kid to Prodigy. Unfortunately we found prodigy day care worst then other three. There are lot of reasons for not recommending this to other parents. - They tell you they have two teachers but only one teacher will be taking care of all 18+ students - Lead teacher takes other classes in the same school, they are all extra. I 'm sure u want to know what those classes are, they are reading and writing that too those classes are tought in the walkway, all the kids and the teacher would be looking at the people going in and out , u will know how much concentration they all have. Everything is extra, booking fee, summer fee, spring fee, reg fee etc. everything is extra, they talk about curriculum so far they taught nothing any thing u want your kid to learn you pay extra. We can understand extra activities can cost money like dance, singing, piano, karate etc. it's understandable if they charge for this. I would encourage you to send your kid anywhere but here and it's very expensive. I heard it's used to be very good but not anymore.

We have been going to Prodigy since 1999, and I have had 2 children go through the center. Since my daughter started in 1999, the same teachers are there (mostly) and the same families are there. My son, who is now 4, has had the same teachers that my daughter had 5 years ago! Also, some of the children in his class are brothers and sisters from my daughter's classes years ago! The cook is great, the center is clean, and they do lots of extra activities with the children.

Pros: curriculum, teachers, ratios

Cons: pricey
