Awesome with kids
by AustinGuy at Citysearch
The whole staff was amazing. Had my 13 month old with me, who can be a handful, and everyone on staff was friendly, chatted with my son, and brought him a toy. Will definitely be back with the family time and time again! Also, very clean restaurant.
Horriable steaks and service

I would not recommend ever coming here. There steaks are terrible, we had 4 at our table (one they messed up the order and brought a second one) so we sampled 5 total steaks. 4 were overcooked, one was raw and they were a terrible quality of meat. I will never come back to Outback again. To pricey for bad food. The overcooked ones were like leather. And we ordered them medium. I would not recommend that anyone eats here.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Food, Service
Australian tchotchkes and brews give this quintessentially American restaurant a distinctive Down Under flavor.

In Short
Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.

Always enjoy the food and the service is always excellent.
They're obviously doing something right at Outback steakhouse.
Steaks are on average very good, great deserts!

My wife and I ate there and least once every 2 weeks, always had good service and very good steaks, once in awhie the steaks are over cooked and they have always replaced it. We loved the Cinnimon Oblivion desert and try to out do the other in eating it, they dropped this dissert and we stopped going, but no they have brough it back and we go again. Price is right as well.
Fantastic Service, good food

7 oz tenderloin was pretty much flat, but 12oz sirloin was fantastic. Service by Jose was 110% and that was the best part. Also enjoyed the fried mushrooms and recommend those for an appetizer. Good visit, pretty decent food, A+ service !!
- Pros: Customer Service, Parking, Atmosphere
Great food, great service

The Outback Steakhouse on Research is the best one in Austin. I have visited it several times, and had great service, great food, and a good time. Our waiter, Chris "C." was funny, helpful, and had a great attitude. We will definitely be coming back to see him. The value is great, too. A steak, salad, bread, and a side all for one price! Highly recommended.
- Pros: good service, good parking, consistent quality
Bad service

Their steaks are not bad, but the service does not deserve compliment. Last time I went with my sister, the waitress was very rude. When she brought the appetizer to us, she just threw our plates on the table, then immediately went to another table to chat withnot offering any apology to us. Of course, we complained about her service to another waiter. She never came back to apologize, nor to explain. Well, they have lost two very good customers...
