Big disappointment. I was soo excited to try bbq at Texas and I thought I would love it. Hated it here. The cashier guy was kinda rude...I wouldn't have cared if the food was good but it was the complete opposite. The brisket was tasteless, the bbq sauce was cold and gross, the potato salad needs salt, and the hot link was overcooked. Pleeeese if you are from out of town, do not come here.
- Pros: parking
"Worst" BBQ in Texas
by GordonElliott at Citysearch
Pretty much says it all. This place is about as much "country store" as it is a legit BBQ place. If you want the WORST chopped sandwich anywhere, including 7-11, eat theirs. The best thing I can say about Rudy's is that their gasoline is overpriced.
- Pros: I Know It's Bad BBQ, They Sell Beer
- Cons: Fake Atmosphere, Overpriced
Rudy's sucks!

Rudy's is really the worst BBQ ever. I know they advertise that as a good thing I guess, but they really are disgusting. They use too much pepper, it's brisket has been dry at times and everything else is nothing impresive. I would not go back ever.
What a rip off! Why go here?

Rudy's would be a good place to go, but with one exception-- the prices. The food is OK, but $10/lb for brisket? And $13 for rack of ribs? Add 2 sides orders to it (everything is ala carte) and you'll be spending as much as you would at Tony Roma's, but you're eating at a gas station!! I just don't get it. At least at Tony Roma's you get better side orders and fresh-baked bread. At Rudy's, they throw you some cheap white bread. I'll never understand people who spend money at this place. If you want good, cheap BBQ, go to Bill Miller's.
