Worth a stop... Makes a dandy lunch.
by zembonez at Citysearch
Try the turkey and pork loin. The beans and banana pudding are staples there too. I love the fast paced wait staff at the counter. It's best to drop in at 11:30 or after 1:30 if you want to get in and out in a short time.
- Pros: Great BBQ and prices. Fast service.
- Cons: Very crowded around lunchtime... not really con but be aware of it.
OMG

Very good! Great service! Excellent food! We had the moist brisket and it was simply amazing. The jalapeno sausages are incredible and the bbq sauce is out of this world. Any questions?
- Pros: food, service
- Cons: ambience
Great bbq
by coog78 at Citysearch
Austin has achieved great bbq with Rudy's. This place is awesome! I always try to eat here every time i visit. The place is huge and there are always plenty of paper towels, which you will need! I love the brisket. Tell them it's your first time every time so you get the Rookie yell. Maybe they make your food better also, who knows?
- Pros: food, atmosphere, price
- Cons: driveway off highway
Best barbeque in town
by stingcode32 at Citysearch
The best barbeque ever, not to mention the greatest banana pudding. The staff is literally, this is not an exageration either, the friendliest in town. Awesome place, fantastic food.
- Pros: Foods is great and relativly cheap
- Cons: sometimes crowded due to popularity
Tasty Bar-b-que
by glennbashem at Citysearch
Deliciously tender moist cuts of beef, with superb peppery sauce. Decent sides, corn however is often overcooked.
- Pros: juicey beef, peppery sauce, speed of service
- Cons: , lighting, average side dishes
Very Good

I liked most everything about this place. It isn't the best BBQ I've had, but it's pretty damn good. I just wish their sauce wasn't as sweet as it is.
- Pros: moist brisket, turkey, outdoor eating area
- Cons: sweet sauce, no beef ribs
good & bad
by lipsmacking at Citysearch
Their breakfast taco station and cigarette/gas counter has saved me from hideous hangovers many a time! But their meat is expensive, and try getting through the lunch line in under an hour! They do have a great staff, and I love the location, but I would rather fly down to (Logan's) TEXAS RIB KINGS on Burnet/183 for quality tender meat at a great price and no mile-long lines. Texas Rib Kings is far overlooked for BBQ in Austin!
- Pros: Drinks on Ice, Convenience, Breakfast tacos
- Cons: Expensive, Long Lines, +$ cheese Bk Tacos
Great Ribs Indeed
by Tcoppola at Citysearch
Man-o-Man the St. Louis extra lean ribs are absolutely the best. Actually all the meat is excellent at Rudy's. to me the ribs just stand out.
- Pros: FOOD
- Cons: NONE
MMM....Spicy!
by DeChontelle at Citysearch
Rudy's is probably one of the best BBQ places in Austin. Service is always fast and friendly. It's a great place for groups or kids, and all of the food has a kick to it. People who like sausage should get the jalapeno...it's spicy and goes well with the BBQ sauce. Other good things to try....the extra moist/lean brisket , any of their ribs, and creamed corn. The only downside...like all other BBQ places, it can sometimes seem overpriced.
- Pros: Food, Service, Good BBQ sauce
- Cons: Price of some meats
