Great Food!
by Leelee84 at Citysearch
My sister and I went to the restaurant located in the back of this market and it was fantastic! The spicy fish is a must and the egg rolls are delicious. The dishes are big and you can easily share with one or two friends. This is a great place if you want something new and different for lunch or dinner!
- Pros: spicy fish, great prices, plenty of seating
- Cons: out of the crispy fish
This is not your average eatery. SUPER!

This place is not at all what you would expect. A small almost cafeteria feeling diner in the back of the market, but don't let the looks fool you. This place has some amazing food. From the Pork Belly & Long beans, to the Salt & Pepper Squid, to the Spicy Fish - every dish we tried was wonderful. And there is plenty to go around. Portions are family size and because we wanted to try so many things at once, we ended up with way too much food. Well, more than we could finish at one sitting. Take a chance and give it a try. Even if you are down south, it is worth the trip north. Amazing authentic dishes!
- Pros: authentic, large portions, great selection
- Cons: a little lacking in the atmosphere dept
Best Sichuan food in town
by whiskpoobah at Citysearch
The cafe in the back of Asia Market used to be one of the best-kept secrets in town (though word is getting out). It serves the most authentic Sichuan cuisine you'll find in Austin, at very low prices considering the quality and quantity of the dishes. Stick to the regional specialties (ma-po dofu, dry-fried green beans, spicy fish fillet, hot pots, Chicken Delight, etc.) and you won't go wrong. Go once and you might become a regular, just for the chance to try everything worth trying on the menu.
- Pros: The food, the variety, the food, the food. Uh, free water, tea and chopsticks too?
- Cons: The atmosphere isn't much to write home about. But you came for the food.
carries ALL the needs for oriental delicacy!

This huge supermarket has the greatest and friendliest service that customers would appreciate! The workers are always attentive and knowledgeable to answer any of your questions and help you in any possible way. There is a great selection (more than a few thousands) of dry goods and frozen products in which you can choose from. This also include items people cannot find at any other locations, such as handmade dumplings, egg rolls, organic vegetables, fresh pastries, and much more all at bargain prices! Besides the fact that this is the only place in Austin where you could get Chinese and Taiwanese groceries, and the wide variety of food products, the store contains a huge selection of gifts that are great for any occasion, such as sake set, tea set, beautiful china dolls, handmade purses, bracelets, necklaces, and so much more you could imagine.
- Pros: good parking, quality products, friendly service
- Cons: none
