I don't know how anyone could have a bad experience with Mariana. She is one of the best colorist you'll ever find. Mariana literally saved my hair about three years ago and I wouldn't trust anyone else to touch it now. My hair had been ruined by another salon and was over processed and literally had no color left to. Mariana gradually and cautiously returned my hair back to a real color and a healthy state. I can't imagine her doing anything damaging to anyones hair and she's always cautious and recommends a natural look. She certainly wouldn't make anyone paid for changing something they weren't happy with. Mariana is professional and classy. The receptionist there is always friendly and accommodating and offers you anything from water, to wine and mimosas, who could not love that!? The store itself is a cheeky little shop at the Domaine and though I haven't purchased anything there, I enjoy looking at the cute goodies on my way in and out of the salon. Staff is always friendly. It's true that you wouldn't know this gem of a salon was ever there without being 'in the know' but once you know, you'll have to share your secret with your friends.
Pros: Quality stylists, fun location, friendly atmosphere
Cons: parking can be a challenge but it's a nice walk through the shops.

I asked Mariana to give me a natural partial highlights (no blonde) on my medium brown hair and to touch up my roots. Result: black roots and blonde highlights. She said I looked fabulous! The best part of the experience was the mimosas that I drank while my hair was ruined. I paid $135 for the color work plus more money to have it repaired...she let me know that I could return if I needed any touch up work, generous, but judging from her interpretation of natural I opted for another salon for the repair.
Pros: Nice to do other shopping while you're at the Domain
Cons: The hike up to the Domain is not worth the price I had to pay for my damaged hair

I went to see Mariana who I had been told worked for one of the best salons in Austin before she moved. I left this salon DISAPPOINTED. She did my worst highlights ever, plus she over-processed my hair. I will NOT recommend her service to any one. I left the salon very sad, then I had to pay extra to another salon to fix the problem .
Pros: Location , pretty salon
Cons: Mariana had poor skills !

I've had facials in some pretty well-known spas in bigger cities, and none compare to Amanda's! The purifying facial is my favorite because there's plenty of time for extractions (no one does them better!) and the foot scrub and massage is a real treat. I can't get over how great my skin looks afterwards! I don't want to put makeup on for days. I've also converted all my girlfriends to bikini waxes with her because no one else does it as thoroughly as she does and, trust me, I've had a LOT of waxes from having lived in several different places. I would follow Amanda anywhere! Don't be discouraged because this salon is in the Domain! It's not as inconvenient to get there as a lot of people think, and the quality and prices of her services are proof that excellent service doesn't always cost a fortune.
Pros: covered parking! super friendly and skilled spa staff outweighs the cons
Cons: industrial look in the salon isn't very attractive but the services are worth the eyesore

my mother cut my hair all my life, with a few exceptions. i never returned to a single hairstylist until i found angelica. now i'm hooked, and i've been back to her at least 10 times. she always gives me something fresh and fun, and unfortunately for her, my cuts (even though they're pretty short) look great for way more than 4-6 weeks. i simply adore her.
Pros: angelica, angelica, angelica
Cons: no real ambiance to the salon, and i so cannot afford to shop there

I had Mariana do my color and Anna cut and style, Its been the best cut and color I ever had. I would recommend anyone that whats to have the best color to have Mariana do your color. Then Anna did her magic with her scissors. There both so friendly and humble.
Pros: Pretty salon, can shop as you wait
Cons: Parking

After searching for my stylist, I found Angelica at Luxe Apothetique! My hair is curly and has gotten cut so badly, from stylists who just don't know. Not this one! My hair always looks great when we are done and we never let it get boring. The staff was cool and friendy, and I tell everyone I know.
Pros: found Angelica, open later and Sundays

Who knew that this little gem lay hidden among all the diamonds in the Domain? A spa with outstanding technicians lays buried in the back of the cute, but inauspicious, enclave of Luxe Apothetique. While Luxe enjoys a prime location in the center of this shopping Mecca, with plentiful parking immediately across the arbor, which sports an outside fireplace, dining at Jasper's and soon-to-be wine bar Cru, the storefront looks much like its neighbors -- trendy, spendy merchandise -- but without the draw of a designer brandname emblazoned on the store name beckoning the glitterrati who frequent this realm. Why should one wander into this store that doesn't really distinguish itself in this entirely new level of shopping bliss that is the Domain? Because tucked away in the back corner is a spa worth the prices that the Domain requires. That is to say the stylists are worth the price. Both the pedicure and waxing services, with Stacy and Amanda, have been excellent and the service rooms adequate, if not luxurious. I followed my hairstylist here, and no, I'm not telling you her name because its already hard enough to get an appointment. Ok, ok... its Christy, but don't tell anybody. She's worth the warehouse-like atmosphere even if you do have to put your purse on the floor and don't have anywhere to set the drink that she is always so thoughtful to offer. As a native, I'd like to see this Austin-based business succeed amongst the New York fashionistas. But they need to learn that industrial-shabby is not the essence of "Keep Austin Weird." Just a few minor, but essential, updates and this location could be the reason that people go to the Domain, not just an afterthought.
Pros: Fabulous stylists in the unheralded spa
Cons: There's a spa?

Just had yet another wonderful facial with Amanda Casey at Luxe Apothetique--I swear she does the most thorough extractions I've ever had and the neck, scalp and shoulder massage included leaves me feeling so relaxed and pampered. And if you're looking for a quick and close to pain-free waxing experience Amanda is the one to see. There's no one else I'd trust for a Brazilian!! I can't say enough good things about Amanda at Luxe Apothetique--schedule an appointment and see for yourself!
Pros: Very relaxing spa area in back of salon--also, great parking available.
Cons: If I were a brand new client I wouldn't have known this was a salon--there's no sign.
