Iced Alamocha
by waxx
This was our first visit to Texpresso. We ordered two alamochas, both hot and on ice - BIG difference between the two. The colder version was so much better as the hot version was slightly bitter. Can't say much for the ambiance of the place as it was a little drab (lighting?), but the coffee was good enough to return for and be willing to try other things. Another thing to note for new-comers - the location was in an obscure shopping center and it has relatively early closing hours. It actually closes at 9pm, not 10pm as posted here.
Best coffee drink EVER!!!
by gtf
When I moved to Austin 5 years ago, a friend introduced me to Texpresso. He said if I loved mochas I would love this place. If I am in Austin, I will drive to Texpresso. I have to admit, it is really only for the alamochas. Hot or cold, diet or regular, it is the yummiest I have ever tasted. If you go and become a regular, Dave or one of the girls will have your drink ready before you reach the counter. Now that is service!!! Look out for their second location opening up on Bee Caves.
- Pros: The Alamocha
- Cons: None
BEST COFFEE DRINK IN THE WORLD
by FLM
I guess if you go into any business with a chip on your shoulder, the business will respond in kind, but at Texspresso Dave and the girls seem to always have a smile and a nice word for just about everyone - whether they deserve it or not! I used to think the best coffee in the world was at Espresso della Oro in Rome. Dave's Texspresso drink beats it DEAD COLD! To verify that I went back to "della Oro" almost 2 years ago, and guess what? The double "TEX" beats any coffe drink I have ever consumed; I mean from Africa to Europe to the Middle East, to the Far East to South America to Russia NOTHING BEATS A DOUBLE TEX OR AN A LA MOCHA HOT OR COLD!!! 'NUFF SAID! FIVE STAR ALL THE WAY.
Best coffee in town, questionable service though
by saker
Best damn coffee in town. I wish I could say the same for the service. If the service was half as good as the the texpresso drink, I'd never have a cup of joe anywhere else. I have been going there for years and there is a particular blonde girl that works there. I'd probaly die from shock if she ever hung up the phone to help a customer. She acts as though she is doing you a favor by selling you a 5 dollar coffee drink. She dosent smile or try hard. But atleast their coffee is great
- Pros: best coffee in town
- Cons: horrible service from long time employees
dont waste your time

the coffee was weak skimping on the beans the staff was a jacka$$. sense, i dint have a tackle box on my face, i didn't belong in his presents. all that drama and then wants to charge:
$2.50 for a large coffee
$1.00 for refills

The Texspresso is AWESOME!!
by kmurph
I always get the double Texspresso on ice with half decaf and half regular. I've had it hot and it's great too but it's too hot during the summer. The owner is always there when I go in and he is a really nice guy and I always receive great customer service from whoever works behind the counter. Give it try, you will love it, I promise!!!!!
- Pros: nice staff, great coffee
- Cons: none
friendly staff, free wi-fi, and frothy goodness called the Texpresso
by jesspatto
I found this coffee shop when I was looking for free wi-fi, and I return even though my laptop is long gone... The texpresso is one of my favorite coffees to get anywhere. I bring all of my friends and family from out of town there to get one. I prefer mine with a triple shot. You can even get it diet, but I say go for the full flavor.... it's worth it!
The baristas are nice and friendly--they serve you up your texpresso with a smile and appreciate a tip. If you have questions as to what to get, they also have plenty of information.
Personally, I think the owners are hilarious and give the place character. Last time I went and he wasn't there, I was a little disappointed.... if you think they're annoying, sit in the back room where it's a little bit more quiet.
- Pros: great texpresso, free wi-fi and a computer to look on while you wait
Great coffee, nice staff, obnoxious owners
by mountainmanven
Texspresso has some of the best coffee you can find. The staff is consistent in the delivery of quality coffees and the sweets from local bakeries are decent in a pinch.
Avoid spending extended time there during weekday mornings when the owners are present and yelling with all their might about baseball and politics. Unfortunately, they think that screaming at one another makes for a good conversation.
The staff are good people and treat you with respect. If you become a regular you can definitely come to expect a welcome in the form of your usual order by the time you reach the counter. Tip accordingly.
- Pros: coffee, staff
- Cons: owners, chairs
Better than starbucks
by mojojojoe
I forgot what good coffee tastes like, but after texspresso coffee starbucks tastes like the stuff left out at
7-eleven again..yeah take your rightful place at the bottom inferior coffees, trying to trick me into forgetting
what good coffee tastes like.. and their iced mochachinos dont even taste like coffee, more like a dessert..
but at least its not some hazelnut..wich never masks the taste of bad coffee so stop trying 7-11..
