Good grub, good beer selection, great waitstaff. And the best pub quiz in town. And there's no problem getting a seat for it either.

this is a great place with an awesome feel too it. very casual but still has some kick in it. you feel welcome and part of the crowd once you walk in the door. service is great. everyone, bar and wait staff to patrons are friendly. has a great selection of beer, boozes, and food (what more do you need) plus sometimes good live music...i make it a habit to visit this pub every time i come to austin....

Pros: great beer, great food, great feel

Cons: parking, parking, parking

Not sure what that other reviewer was drinking, but Guinness Draught, Harp Lager and Smithwicks Irish Ale are all the Irish beers this drinker needs, especially when Guinness is poured with as much love and care as it is here. The food menu is extensive and quite good, especially the Black Bean Queso appetizer, the South of the Border Salad and the Shepherd's Pie dinner. The crowd is friendly & fun and NOT predominantly students, unlike the other 100 bars on the street. B. D. Riley's is all about good food, fine beers and all sorts of live music 5 nights a week with no cover charge. And funa great place to meet people after work or make new friends. There are always interesting people to chat with at the bar.

Pros: Great beer, Surprisingly big menu, Adult crowd

Cons: Downtown parking, Crowded on Sat

An awesome pub atmosphere, and very authentic. Aside from the "American" live music and lack of the usual amount of Irish beer, this pub has a great scene and great music. Definitely a place to visit and a great place to eat at a resonable price and in a great neighborhood. Try the fish and chips, amazing!

Pros: Good prices, Great music, Great beer

Cons: Can be a little loud

Have a pint and some pub grub in the city's largest Irish import.  See the full editorial review.
