Great experience

Scott was my contact and he scheduled my move in a short time with a good rate. Pete showed up today with two others and they never stopped smiling even though they were working so hard. Pete was very polite, pleasant and extremely helpful. they loaded up really quick and effieciently. Unfortunately the latter part of the unloading was done during very heavy rain but still they did a great job of wrapping everything, using care and runners as to not damage the stuff or dirty the house. Even though they were soaked smile never left their faces. Thank you all for doing such a great job and making my move a very good experience.

The movers showed up when they said they would and completed the job in a reasonable amount of time. In addition, the prices were very fair. The number of items moved was less than anticipated and the price was adjusted down accordingly.

Great Moving Company

Moved houses over the weekend. Overall the move went well. Minor scratches here and there, but we had some very heavy/bulky stuff going up tight stairs. A lot of the negative reviews seem to be tied to a crew which I did not have. We got Pete (the comedian), Eric (the genius), and Scott (not Bankston)... I would request this crew if you are concerned about the negative reviews here. Most moving crews can handle the basic: move this heavy object from here to there. You really know you have a great crew when said object does not fit into the doorway/hallway as is and somehow they find a way to get your object in without damage to anything. This is the crew you want to do your move.

Scott Bankston is a good guy... His planning and advice saved us a lot of money. We appreciated that. He also stopped by during the move to verify we were well take care of.

The one thing I would change is how payment is handled. It was clear they wanted payment in advance of work being completed which is not how I prefer to do business. I'm not sure what the concern is here, but I think a portion to start the job (even non-refundable), and the rest on successful completion is fair. I can't complain too much though as in my business we require payment in full in advance as well...

Excellent price, smooth move

I was very pleased with my recent move. The price and service were excellent. Pete and Eric were quick, efficient and careful. They took a great deal of pride in packing the truck to miminize shift and it worked. Nothing was damaged in transit or during loading or unloading. The unloading part is worth noting considering all the stuff they had to haul up the stairs on a hot, humid day. Pete and Eric were prompt, courteous and professional. They continually checked with me to ensure everything was put where I wanted. I would not hesitate to recommend Greater Austin Moving to any of my friends.

the boss is great, the movers not

These movers grumbled the entire time they moved my things -- they complained about my stairs (they're paid extra for those!) nonstop. Then, when we arrived at my new place to unload the things, they told me I had to fill in the online credit card form before they would unload -- but my computer (and internet connection) were back at the old apartment, so I had to drive all the way back there to do it. Not only did they not inform me of this prior to leaving the old place, while they were loading the truck -- they didn't even apologize for this inconvenience!!! While I drove back to the old place and then back again to the new one, they unloaded all my things without me there. The worst part of the experience, though, was the hostility of the movers, particularly one of them -- I was actually afraid of him. He seemed angry and really made me uncomfortable. The prices are reasonable, but they don't justify this experience!

Best movers!

Yes I would highly recommend Greater Austin Moving company. Scott was a great help and went out of his way to make things just right for me and my move. Tracy and his crew went above and beyond on this move. They made my move very easy without any hassles. Use them!

All went well using this company; minor dings but nothing major I give them an A-. Will give them another shot when I move out of storage to see if they are "The Best of Austin"

worst move ever

Find someone else, Anyone would be better. Everything that could go wrong did. My experience with them was a waste of time, energy, and money.
