Ruuuude

by lacbass

This particular Jimmy John's has the worst service of any place I've ever been. Beyond rude. Management needs to fire almost everyone there.

  • Pros: Best sandwiches
  • Cons: Rude beyond belief

Sub shop's inexpensive sandwiches appeal to everyone from business lunchers to late-night studiers.

In Short
Jimmy John Liautaud started his first sandwich shop in Charleston, Ill., in 1983. After mastering his bread recipe, he garnered a fan base through low prices and delivery service. Now, locations nationwide offer Turkey Toms on French bread or Italian Night Clubs on seven-grain bread. While delivery is still an option at many locations, most customers order at the counter. Sit at tables or booths beneath signs proclaiming "Free Smells" and "Subs So Fast, You'll Freak."

great selection

by largedog

The original Jimmy Johns was opened in Charleston Illinios on the campus of Eastern Ill Univ, when I was a freshman there back in the early 80's. I stopped in the one on MLK last week and man has it changed. The sandwich selection was amazing. I had the turkey and it was huge, the bread was great.

Not Happy

by babystick

I used to order Jimmy John's at least once a week and have it delivered to my business for about 2 years. We started this because they solicited us with coupons when they first opened. Anyway starting this week., as they abruptly told me, we are now out of their delivery area and without explanation they will no longer deliver to us.

I am dissapointed in how they handled the situation and will never eat there again.

  • Pros: The sandwiches were good
  • Cons: Customer service poor

Nice sandwich, kids only.

Jimmy Johns makes pretty good sandwiches. But it's darned hard to enjoy one if you're not a teenager. The music is turned up to about 3 times a comfortable volume. If you want to have a conversation with the person across the table from you, be prepared to yell. Meanwhile, the staff will be yelling at you and at each other, in order to be heard over the din. I outgrew their brand of juvenile goofiness decades ago, and I sure don't appreciate their attempt to include me in their silliness. I don't like being yelled at, and I would like to chat with my wife while we're having lunch. There are other places to get sandwiches just as good, but without some zit-faced punk trying to impress you with his infantile sense of humor, and where you can make yourself understood with standard English spoken in a normal tone. Here's another news flash: It's possible to make sandwiches without continually chanting "F**K!". I have a lot of distrust of sandwiches made by potty-mouthed frat boys who spend most of their workday screwing around behind the counter.

so fresh and so clean

by gwen24

Fresh and clean. Their bread is very fresh and delicious. The place is very clean for a fast food restaurant. They could add a little more flavor. The Italian Sub is the best if you like a lot of flavor.

  • Pros: friendly staff, clean, fresh bread
  • Cons: a little pricey, sometimes no seats

Good But Not That Good

by mrmoneybags16

This sub shop, for the most part, gets high ratings because it was very efficient and quick getting my sandwich, despite a long line. The subs were a little above average. I usually hate to side with large chains, but I have to admit that Subway's subs are better. Jimmy John's just didn't spice them up enough and were rather plain.

  • Pros: OK sandwiches, cheap, quick
  • Cons: just OK sandwiches, limited seating

YES PLEASE!

by linzbs

Jimmy John's is the best favorite place in Austin for brunch, lunch, or dinner. The beach club is an awesome sandwhich to try first...avacado, mayo, turkey, lettuce and endless layers of provolone on the super fresh french bread or the OUTSTANDING wheat. The club tuna, bootlegger club, and country club are a few other of the favorites. The sandwhiches are fresh, large, and can not be compared to any others in Austin! Although the sandwhich shop has not been discovered by every austinite, this place is packed upon opening at 11am.

  • Pros: huge and homeade, wide variety, fresh bread & veggies
  • Cons: small shop, busy lunch hour, slow delivery!!!
