Unfortunately, Dr. Shapiro has some personal matters to tend to and has since closed his practice for now. He was by far the MOST outstanding physician that I have had the honor to know. Thank you for my children and the other thousands that you sent to grace our earth. We will miss your care.

Pros: Kind, warm and caring.

Cons: No longer available

I was recomended to this doctor by my previous one due to change of Insurance. This doctor came highly recomended, however I am unable to locate this doctor. The phone number and address are not correct and there does not seem to be a forwarding number or address. I tried calling for a week with no answer so I thought I would go to the office and when I arrived there was no one there, Computers and furniture was still there as if they just took the day off, however there is a "For Lease" sign in their window. If anyone knows what has happened to this doctor please let me know, this is a very strange mystery.

Dr. Ira Shapiro has delivered both of my children. He is the most thourough doctor that one could ever have. I have always thought doctors were arrogant and only guessing at treatments. Dr. Shapiro listens to you and works with you on every angle of your health. He is the first doctor I could talk to about anything and everything. He is great with higher risk pregnancies as he fully believes in seeing his patients and doing weekly sonograms at the end of the pregnancy. I have recommended him to many others and they have all spoke extremely highly of him and continue to use him. We are very lucky to have such a great doctor in Austin. I trust him so much that when I need to see a different specialist I only will see who he recommends.

Pros: The care you receive with Shapiro is 1st rate and can not be matched

Cons: Why can't we replicate him for other specialties??

this was my first appointment (yearly) at Northwest Women's Clinic, being new to the Austin area. Dr. Shapiro was very thorough and professional, but kind. It was as pleasant an experience as these things can be. Even the front office staff was helpful and attentive. I liked that Dr. Shapiro went over my medical history with a close eye and made some excellent recommendations. This office is now located at Jollyville Rd north of Duval. I haven't seen their new offices, but the old one was extremely comfortable and welcoming.

Pros: Excellent Care, great staff, prompt appointments
