pretty nice

I personally do not like the location of the restaurant because it's off a highway in a plaza that can be quickly overlooked. Luckily, the design on the outside made it nearly impossible for you to miss it. Interior wise was really nice-black, red and white were the dominant colors. Sushi and sushi rolls were pretty expensive, but if you order the bento box it's not too bad (~$15) and has a ton of sushi and a long roll. I ordered 2 rolls: spider and philadelphia. My server was really nice and gave me a miso soup for free because my two other friends ordered bento boxes that came with miso soup. My rolls came and I pretty much became disappointed from there. Bento boxes include a california roll, but you can "substitute" by adding more money. Each of my friends' rolls from their bento box had 8 pieces. However, my two rolls only had 5 pieces each. I am not sure why it is less, and I felt kind of gypped. The spider roll was okay; each piece of the philadelphia roll was big and didn't look like a usual sushi piece at all. It reminded me of "kimbob" sushi that koreans make. Anyways I ended up paying $18 for 10 pieces of sushi roll. Other than that, the sushi itself was very fresh and tasted good.
- Pros: good sushi, nice setting, good parking
- Cons: low quantities and overpriced
Great for lunch!

Fresh, tasty food served quickly. The bento lunches are a fantastic value for your $$. I've tried the grilled scallop, sushi, and Chorishi's tempura bentos and they are all extremely good. Sushi a la carte is fresh and unpretentious at a fair price, though the unagi maki is slightly oversauced. Attentive, respectful service. Prompt seating before noon and after 1:00. A great getaway from the office.
- Pros: good food at a good price, ambiance is soothing
- Cons: can get crowded on the weekend and during the lunch hour
Mixed Feelings

I have been to Mikado on several occasions. The food is always excellent but the service can range. They are always gracious but on one visit our table did not have soy sauce and after our second request (a few mins after the food had arrived) it took the waitress another 5 mins to bring it. Also, one friend asked if they could make a veg tempura dish (not on the menu), which was no problem however when the bill arrived, she was charge the price of the shrimp tempura entree, which was quite pricey. Paying that much for fried vegs was highway robbery.
- Pros: ample parking, no wait, great food
- Cons: sometimes service
