Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful

Enjoyed my very first visit to P.F. Changs (Thurs. nite Feb. 12, 2009). The Lemon Pepper Shrimp with the sauce and lemon peel was just the way I like it. The atmosphere was very urban, and uptown. I would recommend this resturant to other friends and relatives that enjoy this type of cuisine. The valet parking is a plus because there is a lot of traffic and limited parking in the area. I love the statues and the seating areas. The waiter and the manager were very eager to please. They worked hard at getting things satisfactory for us. Thanks for a very pleasurable evening. I do hope to come back in the very near future.

Towering twin stallions and carved wood screens add majesty and mystery to this stylish restaurant, where well-dressed patrons sip martinis at the bar and families with children feast around large tables or in spacious booths. The menu gives Chinese classics a contemporary tweak; dishes are artfully presented, with many sauces made tableside by servers. Americanized Chinese food!

The service was O.K. they weren't rude, they just seemed to be a bit understaffed that evening! Most of the food was average "american" chinese food if you get my drift. The duck unfortunately was terrible! Their chefs had NO IDEA what they were doing with the duck!! That mixing of the sauce thing is also quite irritating and I wish that they would stop.

• Pros: No MSG which means migrane free eating!
• Cons: not so great service!

THE BEST Kung Pao Shrimp!

I love their kung pao shrimp, it's been great every single time i've been there. It's spicy and crunchy and delectable. The restaurant is a bit expensive, but the food is worth it. The dessert I did'nt like very much, we tried the chocolate cake, which was massive and nothing special....but I don't go there for dessert.

• Cons: A little expensive and very high in calories, very rich

Not a bad place

I like the classy atmosphere. I do agree that it is a little more American than most Chinese restaraunts you go to. But then again, those restaraunts are on every corner of the city. The food is fresh and the ingredients are fresh. Very friendly service and it is good place to take anyone. Try it for yourself if you dont believe me. I eat here all the time.

a good experience

First, it's obviously very Americanized, which was what we expected going in. The vodka martini was very well made, and I enjoyed a plum wine they had; the Chendu (spelling?) spiced lamb was very tasty as were the spring rolls, and as someone mentioned before, the banana spring rolls were also very good. We went late at night so the service wasn't rushed, I'm betting there's a long wait and you might feel rushed if you went at a popular time. Really, it's expensive compared to most Asian restaurants I think but compared to many other upscale restaurants I thought it was well worth the money. The odd thing was having a football game on the TV screen on the wall as you are eating your food; again reminding you that you are not in Beijing if you didn't already know. The most annoying thing I suppose was paying a valet service $7 to park your car as I didn't seem to find adequate parking nearby. I'm pretty sure we'll be back as this was an enjoyable evening.

over priced, under sauced

I went in for lunch on a thursday. I generally will order something I'm familar with the first time I try a new restuarant so ordered the kung pow chicken. The rice is very good. The chicken came with zero sauce. You mix your sauce with the ingredients (mustard, soy, chili paste) they bring you. Most of us are used to getting a nice brown garlicy sauce in the dish so this was different. The sauce you mix at the table just isn't flavorfull enough and really does little to help the dish. At $11.50 I think it over priced for what you get. (chicken and rice, thats it) $2 iced tea and after tip (service was good) I spent $20. My waitress did bring an ice tea to go for me.

I may try again but be a little more inquisitive as to what to expect in the dish I consider.

Not authentic chinese !

i went there ONCE, the food there have too much msg and too salty. For those whose think that they have good food, all i can say is u guys havent try to REAL chinese food. But i Admit that it a classy place.

Good for those new to Chinese food.

PF Chang's is a stepping stone for those new to Chinese cuisine, and a tasty stepping stone if I may add. Orange Peel Beef combines unique flavors (imagine spicy oranges). For dessert, the Banana Spring Rolls combine six banana egg rolls with coconut pineapple icecream drizzled with caramel and vanilla sauces.

• Pros: Good for those new to Chinese food.
• Cons: Too Americanized for those used to authentic Chinese food.
