came here for the first time, used a credit card to buy a round of drinks, went to pay the tab, was told our credit card was given to someone else. Talk about a bad experience. do they not check names? Anyway, probably going to keep us from going back, which is a shame.

Pros: cool place to hang

Cons: pay cash, credit card at bar was given away.

The Dirty Martini started out with a tiny amount of olive juice and became a martini glass of olive juice with a splash of alcohol after the bartender tried to fix it. The Cosmopolitan could only be called that because of its color and the Gin & Tonic was completely flat. I'll say that their drinks are definitely missing something ... better bartenders (they didn't even look old enough to be serving drinks) and an inventory of better alcohol brands!

Pros: Dark??

I attended Apple Bar for the first time last night (april 2006). The vibe was ncie when I walked in and I even enjoyed the drinks. They were made well... until I came into contact with the worst bar tender in Austin. I was getting shots for 3 friends and when he gave them to me he was very rude and proceeded to tell me I was F-ing stupid for not knowing something about a drink. He was very slow at getting drinks out due to the constant making out with a girl at the bar. Service was awful. I will NEVER return.

Attractive & attentive bartenders - Fabulous drinks - Good atmosphere with adequate seating - mostly techno played by DJ - Try the Caramel Apple Martini

Pros: Friendly staff, Fantastic drinks, Good crowd

The atmosphere may be the best. I took a date there last Friday and we could actually talk (not yell) and listen to some good music. The mojito is excellent and the staff is friendly. There was a totally hot bartendress...unfortunately my date could not stop staring at the door guy.

The title says it all. I really like the drinks at Apple Bar, but the last time I went, I was astounded by the bartender's cocky and ignorant attitude. I can understand being in a rush, but on that day, there were less than 10 people in the whole bar and he still seemed to have problems getting people drinks. There was another guy working who picked up his slack, but I would still prefer not to return to a place with such rude service.

Pros: Interesting drinks, Good location

Good-looking crowd, good ratio, good drinks, but poor music. I can't believe they need to spin those bland tunes. People would be into it more if they played music people knew and liked. Somethin to bob your head to.

I was very excited about trying the apple bar when my group selected it for our weekly happy hour, but when I got there at 10, the bouncer had a long line of my friends waiting OUTSIDE, even though the bar was practically empty! who were they trying to impress?!?! (there isn't a lot of foot traffic over there) I wasn't the only one upset by the rude bouncer who made us wait in the cold; many of us left and had a lot more fun at red fez, and I suggest you do the same!

Pros: close to red fez, close to lucky lounge

Cons: rude bouncer, expensive drinks

HOW TO DESCRIBE THIS BAR BEST IS SOUR, APPLES THAT IS. THE CROWD IS PLAIN AND THE STAFF CAN'T MAKE A GOOD DRINK. I SAW A LOT OF PEOPLE COMING AND LEAVING AFTER ONE DRINK. IT WAS FAR TO DEAD TO BE A TRENDY SPOT. IT MAY HAVE BEEN AN OFF SATURDAY NIGHT. THE DOOR GUY LEFT THE BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH. HOW DO YOU GIVE PREFERENCE TO OTHERS WHEN THE BAR IS NOT EVEN BUSY? A PLACE WORTH WAITING IN LINE, IT IS NOT.

this is the place! Great music and beautiful people! Hot and friendly staff that poor great drinks!! Great for meeting after work or before dinner downtown! This place is going off on Saturdays so get there early!! Austins own BIG APPLE!!
