Castle Hill Fitness has quality machines and wonderful facilities and employees that create a wonderful place to work out. I am fairly new to Austin and have found Castle Hill Fitness to be a FIT. Members and the staff are welcoming to new faces and help people to reach their fitness/health goals. Try it out!

Pros: Hospitality

I practice Ashtanga yoga, we practice 5-6 days a week. I'm fairly new to it all, thus I need guidance, competent, knowledgeable instruction. Juan is a very good instructor, and cares about his students, looks out for us. It's great. And Castle Hill is a very sweet gym overall, bright and knowledgeable staff and trainers and equipment et all, but I'm not there for the gym, I'm there because it's the best deal on yoga in Austin, by far, if you purchase a membership, commit for a year. And there's none of this mat rental jive, or towel rental jive, that other studios here in town put you through -- Castle Hill has mats you can use and they are the highest quality mat that you could buy, not cheap, thin, bitty mats, and if you need a towel (you will, if you are practicing Ashtanga) you just grab one. And you can shower there after your practice, unlike most studios here in town.

Pros: The best I've found in Austin.

Cons: I wish the studio was brighter. I wish the AC in the studio was not set so cold.

Almost a year ago I attended a yoga class at Castle Hill Fitness; since then the entire place has become a second home to me. Not only have I felt welcomed by the staff, but the other members are kind and it is the type of place where you can come as you are. I now take two personal pilates classes each week, a weekly massage, and do yoga three times a week. Before Castle Hill Fitness, I was not a gym person - now Castle Hill has become a part of my life. If you are looking for a place to uncover YOUR healthy body and mind, Castle Hill is for you. P.S. the attached Castle Hill Cafe on the North side of the building serves up the best cup of Espresso in Austin and has great smoothies and prepared foods for a well deserved and healthy snack or meal!

Pros: Diversity of Instructors, All different shapes and sizes and levels of members, working out feels comfortable

I've been practicing yoga with the talented staff at Castle Hill Fitness for almost two years... the instruction has been so encouraging that I signed up and have completed the Castle Hill Fitness Foundation of Yoga Teachers' Training, which exceded every expectation! In addition to a diverse rotation of super yoga instructors, Caste Hill Fitness has two spacious yoga studios, tons of props (and not just blankets and blocks... very helpful for restorative classes), and the upstairs studio has three walls containing the Yoga Wall System for harnesses assisting with inversions and other challenging asanas. I personally highly recommend coming to Yoga Happy Hour on Fridays at 4:30pm with Gioconda!

I started going to Castle Hill for one yoga class (Gioconda's), and found myself impressed by everything the gym has to offer. I'm not a treadmill kind of person, but this gym has an ambiance and a community that keeps me coming, even on those lazy days. Castle Hill's new yoga teacher training program is also outstanding. The staff of experienced and supportive yoga teachers insures that I am always learning something new.

Pros: supportive community, yoga teacher training program

Cons: hard to park at peak hours

Are you one of those people who never feels quite comfortable at a gym? I was until I joined Castle Hill! People are friendly, unpretentious and the owner has created a gym that feels like home. There are TONS of classes for very fitness level, and the overall vibe of the gym is geared towards having a healthy and active lifestyle. Adjoining the gym is an organic 'grab and go' cafe with smoothies and pre-prepared meals that taste good. The equipment is new and is regularly updated. The fees are competitive with no "sign up" fee. You can get massages and accupuncture there, practice yoga, or get addicted to Robert's boot camp class. I love doing their spin classes. While working out on a typical day, I see parents, professionals my own age, senior citizens, overweight as well as fit people, and people with disabilities working out with trainers. In the last 2 years, I've lost 25 pounds--not from crazy dieting or even particularly rigorous training. I just found a gym I actually like and look forward to visiting. This is a special place worth checking out.

It's Austin's best kept secret. This place looks small from the outside, but you walk in and you feel like Alice in Wonderland as you keep finding one cool space after another. The people are so down to earth and nonintimidating. Yoga classes: ROCK! Spinning classes: ROCK! (ZachAttack is an integral part of my week!) Kickbox/Pilates/Massage: MORE ROCKING! There are even climbing walls all over the place and a climbing treadmill. The fact that an organic cafe and a bike shop are both present at this gym, plus people of all ages, different body types and good attitudes is another reason I've made this my HOME TOWN gym (and I've lived here nearly all of my life!) It's my "castle away from castle. ":)

Pros: Ambience, amenities, cool staff and fellow members

Cons: parking can get tight

Teachers were highly skilled and committed to my learning. They created a safe learning environment and modelled the philosophy they taught. The training program took my practice of yoga to an entirely new level. They provided opportunities to apprentice with their staff in addition to learning how to teach yoga.

Pros: Staff highly responsive to client needs

Cons: Downtown traffic

This center offers many differnet fitness classes. They do not specialize in Yoga. This is a gym not a yoga center, for sure!

Cons: Not good service, difficult time parking, yoga class was just okay

Editor's Review

Full-service facility offers classes and specializes in personal training for individuals and groups, with staff of more than 30. Try the Zen Spyn for something unique.  See the full editorial review.
