Spa Night Rocks!

On Spa Night you get to sample 4-5 different services and the staff pampers you...good eats and beverages, massages and lots of TLC. They're knowledgeable and fun to be around also, it's a nice vibe. They give you great tips and share their secrets. Lisa Marie gave me an incredible facial- she's my go-to- skincare girl! Go with a friend- it's a great night out!

• Pros: So relaxing, and you get a beauty sample of everything!

Intimate atmosphere with Austin flare

The excellence of Aveda products and training in an intimate atmosphere where you are known to the staff - not just shuffled through the salon factory. Cute home environment feels uniquely Austin. Wonderful haircuts from Lisa Marie - and fabulous conversation a plus.

WORST HAIR CUT EVER!

THE OWNER CUT MY HAIR AND DID A CRAPPY JOB THE WORST I HAVE HAD IN YEARS. I WILL NEVER GO BACK OR REFER ANYONE TO HER. MABEY HER OTHER STYLIST ARE GOOD BUT DO NOT TRUST LAURA WITH YOUR HAIR UNLESS YOU WANT DISSAPOINTMENT. I ONLY GIVE IT 1 STAR CAUSE IT WON'T LET ME PUBLISH WITHOUT ONE OR IT WOULD ZERO STARS.

i love this salon!

first of all, i was charmed by the fact that this salon is located in a quaint little house. it's so cozy and inviting and surprisingly quiet and tranquil considering it's located in a very bustling area in south austin. i have gotten hair cuts, have dyed my hair, have gotten waxing for the first time and a facial for the first time at this location. i have worked with three stylists at this salon and each one is just great! i will continue to go to vanity again and again becaus not only do they listen to my needs but they go above and beyond to meet them!

I was there with not happy hair, she was ever so much in a hurry,and was asked not to go out in the rain,so not happy hair is now nappy hair !! I Love coming to Vanity, they make me feel, and look Good, thats all I have to Say !

Disappointing Interaction with Staff

I went to Vanity in September for the first time and I had a great time. I thought the staff was nice and I was pleased with their work and their prices. I called again today to schedule another appointment. The girl's name was Margaret and she was very nice, but after I got done explaining to her that I wanted an appointment etc., she asked me to wait for a second. Instead of putting me on hold or muting her phone, she just kind of put the phone down. So I could hear everything that was going on. Basically, she was on a personal phone call (most likely on her cell) with what sounded like her electric company and she talked to them for a good 5 minutes while I was just waiting there getting impatient, after which she picked up the phone again and told me that she was having some trouble with her computer and would call me back in 5 minutes because it was rebooting right now. Clearly, she just wanted to finish her call with the electric company. Weak. Number 1, taking personal phone calls while you're on the job is unprofessional. Number 2, if for some strange reason her phone call with the electric company was that urgent, then she could have explained that to me and I would have been understanding. Number 3, she straight up lied to me and elaborated on her lie ("it's rebooting right now..." etc.) which made me feel like I didn't matter much as a customer. Not really a huge deal, but definitely poor customer service.

Energetic, Knowledgable and Helpful Beauty Care

I visited Vanity last week after meeting Laura Gamble the week before. I was most impressed at the cordial greeting from all of the staff. They really seemed to care about me as a person and not just as a client. The setting is filled with wonderful natural light and the office layout was easy to navigate. I appreciated the warm nature of the staff and will be back to utilize their services. I think that you would find this to be your place of choice for your beauty care needs

Relaxing, Inviting, Good Service and Nice people...and open Sundays!

I had a great experience here! I needed a place open on Sundays and stumbled across this gem. Wonderful service and charming atmosphere of a quaint neighborhood house. I love the Aveda products they use and certainly enjoy the standard scalp/shoulder/neck massage that Aveda salons provide. I will definitely be back again!

BEST SALON IN TOWN - OPEN SUNDAYS

I like this place because they are open on Sundays, the place is comfortable, no attitude,

they seem to like what they do, lots of cool magazines and are south austin hip. The music is

great, old and new and the staff seems to get along with no "SALON DRAMA".

Best creative color. At this salon there is no ,"What do you want? what you had last time?"

At Vanity it is "I have a idea for you that would look great. What do you think?--How was what we did last time should we shake it up a bit?"

I just love them

• Cons: sometimes I have to call 2x before I can get through

Best Wedding Planning

I was just at the salon for a wedding I was a attending for my cousin. The bride, her mother, mother of the groom, other cousins, maid of honor, matron of honor, bridesmaids and other family members were all here. There was whispering among us, bad past history, crys of sadness, crying of joy and the salon actually helped us keep an even keel. They were very zen if you would say. I felt tacky for the way I was acting and they created a very safe environment for me. They listened and then gave support and love for us all. Very strange experience for me. Not gossipy or belittleing. Just reminding us that family is all we have .......for better or worse. Forgive and comfort. Well, there was one typical stylist telling us of her drama and problems with boys. All about her, while she coughed up a lung. Well everyone did excellent bridal hair. I mean excellent. We had fits and bad comments about each other and the salon swooped in and got involved and "fixed" our issues. The wedding makeup was very sheer but with great coverage. We all left feeling great and frankly feeling better as family. We were counceled AND beautified. I recommend them highly. The WHOLE SALON(but one stylist) made us feel like they only were focusing on US. IN fact I heared one of us ask if the salon had anyone else coming in for the day. Silly question really, right. They salon had another wedding party after us and other customers. They did not rush us or anything. We were as we felt the only thing important. WE Were THE Only thing. We felt special. Thank you Vanity for making our day special. By the way the whole wedding party was new. We had never been to the salon. Imagine our fear going into this. No practicing nothing. We came in off of a referral from one of the bridesmaids. We all would have hurt her if it had went south. We had a excellent experience and we will be back to get other service, very pleased with the makeup we bought too. Trust me, Go.
