Wow! -- I have never had such accomodating service, especially in Austin, Texas. Mr. Gideon worked with my schedule, not just with his schedule . He made an appointment to see the work I needed on a Lane china cabinet -- a foot was broken off when moved for renovations to my house. He came after my work hours at 5:30 pm. The job was done by 6:30 pm. He took the foot home (he lived only about 1 - 2 miles from me, thankfully). Then he returned it with some of some of his equipment. Mr. Gideon was also just downright pleasant to work with. The job cost me $75 but was worth it to get the china cabinet in working order -- steady for plates and glassware.
Pros: South Austin, accomodating and pleasant service, no pressure
Cons: letting a stranger in my home

I would like to say, that I was extremely pleased with the service recieved. I had a very large sleigh bed footboard with both sides for the rails broken out. I saved the pieces, we thought it wasunfixable. From the beginning Mike was very professional. He gave me a very reasonable price quote on our inital phone conversation. We setup a time for him to pickup the footboard. Upon meeting him I felt confident that it would be fixed properly. He gave me a time frame from pickup to returning it fixed that worked out well with my schedule. I would highly recommend Gideon's Furniture Repair to all in need of furniture repairs.
Pros: Professional, Excellent Quality
Cons: None

Mike Gideon was professional from the first conversation to the last. He immediately offered to come and pick up the piece of furniture and was very honest about what could and what could not be done about the damage. And in the end, my total bill was actually less than his original quote. His customer service, repair work, and character were excellent. He will be my first phone call if I need furniture work done in the future.

This is basically a gentleman's own business run out of his house. He is extremely nice. I had an antique headboard that had splintered. I stuffed the thing in my small car and hauled it down to Mr. Gideon's place. He immediatly told me that I should have just called him and he would have picked it up! He was extremely nice and professional. The job took only a few days and cost less than the quote! In addition, Mr. Gideon dropped it off when it was a good time for me. It turned out this was 830 at night in the pouring rain! I would highly, highly recommend this business.
Pros: Professional, very skilled, extremely nice

This company did great work for us. A dresser was damaged in a move, with the finished stripped off parts of the top and three of four drawers. This company gave us a telephone quote of $100 to repair. They made three separate trips to our house - one to take a drawer to test, another to take the whole dresser, and finally to return the dresser to us. It took them two attempts to repair/match the finish, and when it was returned to us, it looked almost perfect ... and they charged us *less* than the original quote. They were really nice about everything, and we couldn't have asked for a more reasonable price.
Pros: Pick up/delivery to your house
