My dog has been a regular at BHV for at least a year now. She attends daycare once a week and has had multiple overnight stays for up to 2 weeks at a time. I've tried 2 other daycare/boarding facilities, and she loves BHV the best! Her tail starts wagging, and she gets really excited as soon as we pull up into the parking lot. She plays all day long and comes home exhausted and surprisingly clean. Their play area is sand instead of grass, so she's not muddy and covered in leaves/weeds like another place she's boarded. BHV is a 30 min. drive and completely outside of my route to work, but I drive the extra distance because she loves it so much.
Pros: Friendly staff, dogs play all day, convenient hours
Cons: Wish it were closer to my house!

We love Barking Hound Village but, more importantly, our dogs do. Other dog daycare and boarding facilities charge an arm and a leg just to give your dog time outside of the kennel run. At Barking Hound Village, the dogs are taken out for 5 play groups per day. They have great staff who shower the dogs with attention throughout the day. We wouldn't trust our dogs in the care anyone else.
Pros: Convenient hours, great location, dogs love it, they don't charge extra for play groups.
Cons: None

This is by far the best place I've ever boarded my 1-year-old boston terrier. She boards usually one weekend a month and goes for daycare every once in a while if I need to clean or have a long day at work. The staff knows her by name and have even nicknamed her due to her coloring. My dog pretty much dances in the backseat when we pull up! The dogs get to go outside and run around with other dogs 5 or 6 times a day with other dogs their size which is great both for burning off energy and socializing shy dogs like mine. They are affordable, smart about their play groups, and my dog always comes home exhausted and well socialized from a wonderful stay.
Pros: Lots of exercise, affordable, great staff
Cons: I live up north so it's far for me but completely worth the drive.

I have a 1 1/2 year old yellow lab and have used both the boarding and the daycare services. My experience with Barking Hound has been exceptional. Guero has all the energy of a puppy and the staff have gone out of their way to make sure that he is in an appropriate play group. I will also say that the staff truly care for the dogs and it shows when you pick them up.
Pros: Location & Hours

I've just returned from picking up my pups from their first stay at Barking Hound, where the staff genuinely cares about caring for your pups. Unlike our previous kennel where we had a terrible final experience, all staff work with the dogs. Yes, they actually spend time getting to know the temperaments of your dogs. My pups were clearly affectionate with the folks working at BHV and vice versa (I care more about whether or not my dogs actually like the people :) On my first visit, I swung by while passing by to ask questions. The staff took the time to show me the facility right then; no appointment necessary. A previous review indicated an overfed dog when the owners picked up their pup as well a few other items. I'll say this: you can tell dogs are boarded here. It smells like dog. Thank goodness. The dogs romp and play and bark at each other through their gates. There are no sterile crates. Well, unless you ask. BHV offered to put one in the run with my pups since one of my dogs goes into her crate to sleep (she doesn't like wide open spaces during snooze time). I am IMMENSELY pleased with the care provided to my pups. They lived the good life at BHV having many outside play times and a cozy, roomy place to relax when done. Both are sleeping contentedly right now, and I can travel with peace of mind in the future.
Pros: Staff, facility, pens not crates. A caring playful environment for my dogs! Great hours and fee structure.
Cons: I live on the other side of town but happily make the drive to have my pups at the right place.

Our beagle mix went to Barking Hound daycare and boarding for years in Atlanta, and we were so glad to find one here when we moved to Austin recently. We were given a tour when we first visited to make sure that both my dog and I felt comfortable and he immediately started playing with the other dogs. When we picked our dog up after his boarding stay, he was glad to see us but wasn't frantic which meant he enjoyed himself. The 1/2-day daycare is a great option if your dog just needs a chance to burn off some energy and play. We wouldn't want to take our dog anywhere else!

My dog loves it here. I wish I got to go as well. When we pull up i think that she would ring the door bell to get in if she could. I wouldn't take my dog to day care anywhere else. And they have the best hours of any place in austin!!!
Pros: Great Hours
Cons: None

My dog has been making weekly trips to Barking Hound's Doggie Day Care for over a year now. She's also had a few longer stays (a week +) and is always well taken care of and exhausted from all the play time she gets here. This is the best part. Without a yard, it's tough to keep my big dog well exercised. This helps alot. My dog loves it here. I open the car door and she runs inside. What's a better endorsement than that?
Pros: location, quality of care, drop off/pick up flex
Cons: smaller urban setting
