Shabby Chic (more shabby than chic)

by jerones

We stopped by Aunt Tilly's yesterday for a beer and something to eat. We'd never heard of it before. We won't be back. First of all it was unbearably HOT and stuffy inside. Figured that was part of the Carribean theme. There wasn't much other evidence of it, after all. OUr waitress cracked us up, literally dropping our silverware on the table while talking on her cell phone. The food tasted good, we had the avocado shrimpwich. Couldn't find much shrimp in it, but it did taste good. The sweet potato chips were really good, nice and crispy. Overall it was an amusing experience. My stomach is regretting it today, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it's cooincidence.

  • Cons: Poor service, no a/c

not authentic

Not so sure the cook has been anywhere near the caribbean. The jerk was very disappointing. Enjoyable atmosphere but our hunt for authentic caribbean food continues.

My family went to Aunt Tilly's last Sat and the food was awesome - different from the usual fare around town. We met the owner and new chef - they made us feel at home. If you're looking for great food and a great view by the water - check them out. Order the Cubano!

something new

by snickle

My husband and I visited recently and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was nice, very layed back. A great place to go with a few friends and just hang out and have a few drinks. We enjoy lakeside dining much more than the downtown scene. Aunt Tilly's provided everything we like...a great atmosphere, nice staff, uncrowded, and a little Something New in entertainment.

  • Pros: nice view, not crowded, music

No Cook No Food

by hkells

Stopped by last Sat for lunch with a hungry family around 12:15 PM to check out Aunt Tilly's. The waitress said the Cook was a no-show and we could wait around. Not good for a restaurant that's suppose to open at 11:00 AM

Lake Travis' take on the casual lifestyle and creative tastes of the Caribbean.

by Contributor

In Short
Year-round on the eastern shore of Lake Travis, Aunt Tilly's, with its relaxed atmosphere and authentic menu, offers patrons a glimpse of island life. Traditional Caribbean dishes abound: Cayman conch fritters, Jamaican jerk chicken and Cuban picadillo, to name a few. Take the kids and enjoy the sprawling decks and lawn seating, or drop by for an island-themed cocktail after work. Live music and karaoke provide additional entertainment.
