I have traveled many places and lived everywhere. I have been using the same place in Denver for 20 years, I have tried to change many times but always ended up flying back to Denver. A little over a year ago I swore I would never risk it again and have been traveling to Denver every 6 weeks no matter where I was. I read about this salon on City Search and decided to step up. Amber was wonderful! I had the best facial I have had in a long time. From the time I walked in the front door, I was treated very well. I am already planning my next facial. Next was hair and Teryn was all over it!! I was worried for about the first 3 seconds and that was it. The last time I tried someone new, they turned my hair pink, no kidding. That was why I was a little worried. When Teryn started talking and shook my hand, I knew that it was going to be fine. After the cut and color, it was more than fine. It was great!!!! I'm sold. Thank you so much for such a great experience from start to finish. My next hair trip will be with Teryn in 6 weeks!!!
Pros: Everything
Cons: non

Have you ever walked into a salon with a designer handbag, dressed business professional, paid like 250 bucks for a haircut and color and STILL felt like everyone at the salon was looking down their nose at you? Well you won't find that at Keith Kristopher. What you will find is excellent staff, wonderful atmosphere and fantastic salon services. Keith Kristopher is exactly the type of salon I want: -contemporary, comfortable surroundings without being posh and snooty -down to earth, talented stylists -clean and comfortable nail care -to feel and look great for a great price -easy appointment scheduling -open communication about fees, what I want, and what's best for my nails/hair, etc. I've had my new 'do for 2 days and I got stopped on the street yesterday by a total stranger who raved about my hair. She couldn't believe the color wasn't natural and she loved the cut. (She was obviously a professional, and after chatting a bit she said, "I'm so sorry - can I touch your hair? It looks so healthy, I can't believe it is colored!" I would have passed along the business card Teryn gave me, but I'd already passed it on to one of my other new hair fans. (Don't worry, we got the number into her phone!) I can't leave out Jacqueline (I hope I'm not butchering her name). I've gotten a manicure and pedicure from Jacqueline. It was perfect! I play soccer several times a week and I do lots of filing so my hands and feet need serious TLC. She did an excellent job and the stations were clean, comfy and cute. I felt like I was chatting with a girlfriend I'd known for years! If you want an amazing experience, make an appointment now! Don't pay too much for a haircut or other service you aren't in love with -- call Keith Kristofer and make an appointment now!
Pros: Excellent service, value and experience
Cons: NONE!

I always get a great cut from Sara. She also makes good conversation, is very professional, and polite. The staff a Keith Kristofer are all friendly, I feel like I'm talking to a friend when they call about appointment scheduling, or for any reason. I've recommended a friend to Sara and he was very happy with the cut. I've had 120 dollar hair cuts that weren't half as good as a cut from Sara, and it will cost you less than a third of that (for a basic men's cut). I've never had a negative experience at Keith Kristofer, and I'm sure you won't either. Make sure you go, and ask for Sara! Also, I forgot to mention. I've had my eyebrows waxed there a few times and that too is impeccable.
Pros: Amazing atmosphere, service, cut quality, and people.
Cons: None at all!

I saw Teryn (I'm not sure of the spelling) and she was awesome! She was super sweet and funny and gave me one the best cuts of my life. She took the time to work with my hair texture and talk with me about exactly what I wanted. I went from fairly long hair to pretty short and I love it! Everyone at the salon was friendly and said hi on their way by my chair. I had a really great experience overall here and would definitely recommend going to Keith Kristofer Salon and Spa, that is of course unless you don't like feeling like a movie star!
Pros: Friendly Staff, clean fun enviornment, safe feeling
Cons: NONE!

My young teen son has thick, curly hair. He let it grow out passed his shoulders, and we loved the look, but he needed to cut it to participate in athletics. Concerned that he would have a fuzzy "fro" we sought someone with experience cutting and styling male, curly hair. we found that person in Mycah at Keith Kristofer Salon. She took her time and gave an exquisite cut, and ensured that both my son and I were completely happy with her work. The rest of the staff were equally professional and attentive. Overall a great experience. We will definitely return!

A family member recommended this salon to me and I'm so glad she did. Herve cut my hair and Sunny did my highlights and I can't rave enough about how good my hair looks. You know you got a great cut when you can let it dry naturally and it still looks gorgeous. I'm a low-maintenance person and rarely have the time to blowout my hair. I told Herve I needed a cut that would look good even when I let it dry naturally and he understood right away. This morning I washed it, put a little mousse in it and was out the door and my hair looks fabulous and has tons of volume like Victoria Secret hair! This is the best hair cut I have ever had and I cannot recommend him enough. I also got highlights and they turned out beautifully. Sunny is a delight to talk to and she knows what she's doing. After a long consultation to find out exactly what I wanted she went straight to work. She did 2 shades of caramel - a light and a dark - which look perfect with my dark brown hair. The highlights are thin and subtle and the over-all effect is natural but not at all boring. Thank you Herve and Sunny!!
Pros: Easy to find, easy parking, wonderful non- pretentious staff and a hip atmosphere
Cons: None

Growing up in Austin I have tried different facials all over town and this is by far the best facial in Austin . Amber is so friendly and nice and really goes out of her way to make you comfortable. Not only is the room relaxing, but the Sonya Dakar products really work. My skin is always smooth and glowing after I get a facial and looks amazing. (my skin is really sensitive so it is great to find someone who really understands my skin type) The facial is worth every cent and I even purchased some of the products to use at home. Amber went over which ones would work best for my skin and I have really seen a difference. (the face washes and scrubs are my favorite) Amber waxes my eyebrows too and they always look wonderful. I could rave about this place forever and it is great to find a salon with great people and services. I also get my hair done here and would never go anywhere else. AND I have to say that Marisa at the front is so accommodating and really helps out anyway she can. I highly recommend getting a facial/waxing with Amber (plus every other service) --you will not regret it!
Pros: friendly and skilled staff, beautiful salon, great products and location, plenty of parking
Cons: none

I am fairly new to Austin and this is the second salon I have tried. I was impressed by the people and the place. They are very nice and they certainly seem to know what they are doing. Any time I go to a "luxury" salon I worry that it will be arrogant and cold, but this salon is far from it. One thing they did that was different ffrom what I've experienced is the stylist quoted my price for color and hair cut during the consultation BEFORE they started on my hair. I havent seen that before but I liked it. No nasty surprises at the end. They seem professional in the way they go about things and it was a pleasant experience all the way around. I received hi-lites and lo-lites and a hair cut and I am happy with the results. Looking forward to trying some of their other services. I recommend.
Pros: Parking was a breeze. professional. pleasant

Updated on Sep 19: Original review now truncated. The owners contacted me after my initial visit and invited me back to see a different stylist. We agreed my first experience was subpar via a series of professional and polite emails. I'm the first to admit everyone has a bad day. So I saw Kris today and she was excellent. She took the time to really understand my hair, what I wanted. She asked lots of questions to draw out how I like my hair. I appreciated that. Her attention to detail was exactly what I desire from a superior stylist. The staff and owners have been courteous, professional , and service oriented all along. Short story: First visit was bad luck. It happens in life. And this place endeavoured to make it right. Original review: I was shampood by another stylist who said my stylist was a little behind. Not a good sign. I expected my stylist to introduce himself and examine my hair before cutting it. After the shampoo I sat at her station to wait. After 15 minutes with wet head, my stylist left the bleaching going on in his chair. He went to work and 9 minutes later was finished, including his leaving to check on his bleaching. Men's haircuts are pretty straight forward. He onlymade a couple of texturing strokes with a razor but that was it for detail. To be fair, he gave a decent cut. Combine the wet head wait, the quick cut at a different station, and the lack of attention after completing my hair and this combines for a 3 star rating. Sure, it was a much better cut that I would get at a walk -in place. But I will be looking for someone and someplace where I receive the level of attention my appointment and my fee deserves. In sum: Polite, friendly, nice space. But men-- be aware that you *may* be a second class citizen here based on my experience. I wanted to like the place. And my cut was decent, as I said. The guy was talented and I wished I would have gotten a little more attention. Maybe you will have better luck than I did.
Pros: Polite, courteous staff. Appealing architecture.

I got a haircut from Sarah Saenz and it was great! She was recommended to me by a friend whose hair I like, so I knew I was probably going to get a good haircut. She didn't cut my hair too short, and made it look healthy again. I'll probably be getting haircuts from her from now on. The thing I liked best, actually, was that I was thinking about getting a deep conditioning treatment, and she honestly told me that it would probably be more beneficial for me to regularly do one myself at home. Then she pointed out some hair products that were all half off! I really don't like being taken advantage of or being ripped off, so I appreciated her candor and helping me get a good deal.
