Great Atmosphere

Fun place to go and sit out on the patio. really enjoy watching games at Docs. Great daily specials and they have pretty good appetizer sampler platter. Would recommend with a group. Love sitting on S. Congress.

Fun Spot for Drinks and Grub

This is right in my neighborhood and a great spot to go to for drinks and bar food. Nothing is AMAZING, but nothing I've had is bad, either. The fried mushrooms are good, fish tacos were great (get them grilled), and burgers are pretty good, too. Check out the happy hour specials during the week.

Oh-- fun place to watch sports, too. If a UT game is on, you can watch it along with the legion of Longhorn fans.

Good Outdoor Place

Doc's has great beer and burger specials on Mondays. I really liked sitting outside and watching people walk up and down Congress. It's a little hard to find seating on big "event" nights, but still a nice change of pace from the Austin bar scene.

fun servers! good food! great drinks!

I dont know why so many people wrote such bad reviews for this bar! Every time I go I have a great time! The servers are friendly, cute, and fun! They don't bother you while your trying to sit, relax, and enjoy your night, unlike most sit down restaurants. The servers is fast especially considering how busy it is there! If your visiting Austin Texas I definitely reccommend that you stop by and have a couple drinks!

Ok food, TERRIBLE service

I was extremely disappointed in Doc's. I paid $8.99 for a salad with chicken, bleu cheese and field greens. THAT'S IT. The service was awful. VERY slow. We were there for at least an hour and a half. Not worth the effort.

Really GOOD food and Great Atmosphere!!!

Docs has awesome food. I love the relaxing atmosphere. If you want to go to some place a just relax and eat great food goto Docs. I love there south congress chicken eggrolls and the stuffed avacado. Eveything I have ever eaten at Docs have been wonderful.

great patio, good food

I really enjoy Doc's. I live in the area and go there often to meet friends. The patio is awesome for people watching and my favorite food item is the Chicken Fried Avacado, very GOOD! I'm not much of a beer drinker, but the margaritas rock.

How does this Bar stay in Business

Lousy Service, lousy food. With all the great places to eat/drink it Austin, how does this place stay in business. They charge $9 for a lousy burger, stinky atmosphere and rude service. I wish I had checked the reviews b/f going to Doc's. It seems several people have had similar bad experiences.

Canned chicken?!

Had been here before for a couple drinks, and while overpriced for everthing but beer, the salsa was tasty with the chips. Went back yesterday for nachos when in the area and was disgusted! They are 5 little "chalupas" with a little beans and cheese on them. Got them with chicken on them and it was literally canned chicken. Tasted like tuna... salty, watered down and that's it... not even seasoned or nuked to pretend like they cooked it. Even my boyfriend who will eat everything couldn't get it down. Service is less than average, so no reason I'll ever go back.
