Best Lamb Chops I've EVER Had!
by txredheart at Citysearch
My boyfriend and I love to try new places to eat. We'd never been Buenos Aires because it's on the other side of town from us. But a couple of weeks ago we decided to try it. WOW... it was delicious. WE both ordered the special which as Lamb Chops and we were so glad we did. They just melted in your mouth. We are still talking about them. They were served with huge spicey shrimp that were fresh and perfectly prepared! The only problem is that we both wanted MORE! We started with salads that were both served fresh and beautiful and very GREEN...no iceberg! YEA!. The service was great too. We had a great waiter, but they all did a good job of tag teaming to make sure everyone was well taken care of.
- Pros: Food-high quality, fresh, beautiful presentation and deliciously prepared. Service great too.
- Cons: Parking's a little tricky. The dessert we ordered was beautiful and good but not as yummy as it looked.
Great Little Cafe
by velvetspel at Citysearch
A nice cozy little cafe... the best soup (spinach and mint--may sound strange, but was delish!) The only downer to the experience was the waiter. We could tell he was busy because he was the only one, but no excuse for his attitude; not the friendliest--- perhaps he does not realize it. We asked if we could sit outside and he replied with, "if you want to." Now, why would we have asked if we did not want to? I understand he didn't want to be running back and forth, but the place really isn't that big. the pastries were yummy... we tried them in the car, and I would have run in to get more if it weren't for the waiter; I really did not want to deal with him any longer. Why else would we have enjoyed dessert in the car?
- Pros: pastries, soup
- Cons: waitstaff
Great Food

I've spent a lot of time in Argentina, so I know the food well. Buenos Aires Cafe is a nice representation of Argentinean food. I have been twice and have enjoyed my meal each time. There are few places I've eaten at in BA that were better than this place. This is a great place to go try something different than American & Tex-Mex at a reasonable price.
- Pros: Food, Service, Pricing
- Cons: Ambience is so-so, Parking can be tricky, Not a lot of seats
Unique South American Experience

We went here one evening after reading the reviews on Citysearch and trying to find something new. What a wonderful surprise! The food was very good. Started with empanadas and then we had the butternut squash gnocchi which was the special of the evening and another dish that is the house favorite (there is a spanish name I can't remember) that was similiar to shepard's pie. All the above were fantastic. We also tried one of the many freshly made in house pasteries for dessert. We were pleased with everything including the charming atmosphere and service.
One disappointment: After reading the review(s) listed on Citysearch we took some time to stop and select a bottle of wine to bring only to find out they do now have thier liquor license and were going to charge us a $15 corking fee to open our bottle. Hopefully the information is updated here soon, but in the interum it would have been more appropriate to wave the fee as we pointed out to our server that the information provided by Citysearch stated to byob otherwise we wouldn't have bought/brought it (they didn't).
Otherwise, we enjoyed our whole experience.
- Pros: Good food, nice ambience, good service
- Cons: Misinformation - do not byob unless you want a corking fee (they have a liquor license now)
Big surprise!

This was a great find. It is very unassuming on the exterior but dont judge a book by its cover or in this case a resteraunt by it's icicle lights. It was delightfully charming and immaculately clean. My friend and I went to catch a World Cup game and we were extremely impressed that we weren't rushed at all through our meal. The waiter was very attentive and approachable and the cuisine was different and refreshing and very affordable. Best kept secret in austin.
- Pros: Great service, affordable food
- Cons: Limited space

This is just the most adorable place- the pastries are homemade and to die for. The tres leches is some of the best! It is very stylish and everything is fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place.

I have been there lots of times and the never disappoints me. The empanadas are the best of the house, pastas are always good and milanesas are a classic. I would like to taste some grill beef sometime, like they do in Argentina at all times. Hope they keep it up!
- Pros: Bring your own wine
- Cons: overpiced facturas
