I had never tried yoga before. I was a little intimidated, because I am overweight. I love going to Balanced Body. The studio is beautiful with great teachers. The beginning class is slower and highly focused on learning how to do the poses right, why that way is right, and centering oneself. It doesn't matter what level of fitness you at at. Stiff and out of shape? Kat has a modification of every pose for you. Flexible, strong, with great stamina, she has a modification for you too. Overweight, pregnant, old injuries, it doesn't matter. All the teachers at BBY will help you find the place you personally need to practice and improve. The atmosphere is very supportive and calm. There is never any judgment or competition. Friday gentle classes are not only gentle, but fun and informative about the traditions of yoga. Kat and all the other teachers place a big emphasis on doing what you feel is right, what your body is telling you is right. This not only helps prevent injury, it creates a place where anyone, no matter what level, can learn and enjoy yoga. BBY is also affordable. The prices are low and you definitely get more than what you paid for. I also visited one of their massage therapists, Jessica. Very affordable massage with a sweet and kind therapist who does a great job while making you feel comfortable. Even if you are a really modest person who doesn't like the idea of being without clothes, consider giving Jessica a try. You have the option of the towel-over-the-bum but also a sheet. If you opt for the sheet, only the specific area the therapist is working on will be exposed. Everything else is covered. In summary, a wonderful place for beginning or advanced yoga and great affordable massages.

Pros: knowlegable understanding instructors, great supportive atmosphere, practice for all levels of experience

Cons: it is in cedar park, which is pretty far north for me

Never in my life had I done Yoga. I started out in the beginner class and have completely learned the benefits and the core principals of yoga. Kat has explained all of the poses and what they are used for in great detail and in layman's terms so that there is no confusion. I had lower back pain and a slow metabolism before yoga. Now I am more flexible, the pain has subsided and I feel like I my energy level is much higher throughout the day. I will without a doubt keep practicing yoga until I get so old that my knees quit working, I'm hooked! I highly, without a doubt, no hesitation recommend Balanced Body Yoga for all levels! I FEEL MUCH BETTER! The studio is very warm and unique. From the time you walk in the door and notice the very pleasant and inviting reception area, you will feel like you belong. Everything about this studio is very calming from the music all the way to the custom murals and art on the wall. I learned that the artist is the owner of the studio, and I must say there is some serious effort into making me feel welcome.

Pros: Great class size, personable attention, price is more than alright.

Cons: need more morning classes

I've been taking classes at BBY for about six months. I started in Kat's beginner class and have since moved up to the regular. Kat is a great instructor for beginners and more experienced folks as well. She takes the time to explain the benefits of each posture, the correct techniques and movements to avoid injury, multiple options for more or less challenge, and she's also great about offering modifications to work around injuries if you have them. She also incorporates a lot of the mental health benefits of yoga into the way she teaches. Her studio is small and intimate ... it really feels like a calm, serene get-away from the stress and busyness of everyday life. The value is also very good ... Kat's classes are less expensive than any other studio I've tried. The only potential drawback to BBY is that because it's a smaller studio with only a few instructors, there's not as wide variety in classes offered or scheduling options ... but that's a worthwhile trade-off for a more personal, consistent experience.

Pros: Instruction, value

Cons: None

BBY is a great place. I've been attending yoga classes there since Kat first opened the studio. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Kat is a great instructor. She encourages you to try new things all the while explaining each pose and how you can make it work for your skill level. The value is amazing and can't be beat. Cedar Park has long needed a yoga studio and BBY has cornered the market!

Pros: Reasonably priced, Good location, Convienent class hour

I have been to many other studios around Austin and this is the first one that met all my needs. It is personalized instruction with a focus on each pose. I really feel a greater understanding of my body and am much more flexible and stronger than when I started. The owner is great and answers any questions. The class size is small so you are not bumping into the person next to you and she makes sure you are doing it correctly. It moves at a pace that is right for every level. The pricing is very competitive too.

Pros: small classes, detailed instruction, good parking

I've gone to other Yoga studios before and been scared off by the power classes and the speed in which they are conducted. I have been able to learn the fundamentals of yoga at Balanced Body and gain a real understanding of the poses that I do - why I'm doing them, what are the benefits, etc. My flexibility has increased tremendously and I feel like I have a lot more energy. The instructors are great and you receive one:one attention. Highly recommended

Pros: Class Size/Pace, Instructors, Environment
