Left Karens room crying.

A friend suggested I go to Karen to get my hair done for prom. She said she was good. I went, and when she was done it wasn't at all what I'd asked her to do. It was hideous and I left crying, and with the ugliest do EVER. Do NOT go to Karen for prom or wedding do's.

I am sorry to hear you were not happy. With Up-Dos I always try to listen and hear what the client wants each step of the way. During this appointment the client gave no indication as to wether or not she was unhappy. Had I known, I would have certanily worked with her. A full refund has been issued as I guarantee all my work. Again my apologies. I wish you the BEST! -Karen

Karen at Grapevine...Great Experience

I am so picky about my hair cuts & I have been going to the same person for over 8 years but she moved up north. I found Karen on Austin City Search and decided what the hell. I needed the hair cut & the lady I normally go to would not be in. I am so glad that I decided to go to Karen...she cut & styled my hair and I loved it. I highly recommend her, you will have a great experience.

Awesome Hair Stylist!

I am a 6+ year customer of Karen's and have always walked out of her doors feeling & looking GREAT! Her cuts are the only one's that have people asking me where I get my hair done. I have Amer-Asian hair which means thick, dense with some wave, not easy to cut. I don't ever know what I want, but Karen makes it happen and it works.

Karen made my Locks of Love donation hair cut (which she did for me) look beautiful. I was originally going to grow it back out and cut it again, but it looks so good I want to be selfish. She also cut my 3 year old's hair for Locks of Love.

She is a beautiful and honest person as well as an AWESOME hair stylist!

Great stylist & colorist

Karen has been cutting and highlighting my hair for over 4 years and she is simply the best! I also have thick, wavy, coarse hair and Karen does a fantastic job of taming my unruly mane. I get a great cut every time. Add to that the foot massager while she shampoos, and it's heaven!

Silky & Sassy Style

I have to let you in on a little secret: Karen is fantastic. I have been going to her for the last 7+ years and each cut has been amazing. Usually a person goes into an appointment knowing how they want their hair styled. I am not one of those people and I love variety in my style. She knows what is best for my lifestyle and body shape and delivers a great cut each time. She also provides a great re-hydration treatment that makes my hair feel like silk and the scalp massages are out of this world. She also is very accommodating to my schedule.

Trendy mama :)

After the birth of my first son, Karen was honest enough to tell me that I was falling into the new mom slump of no style and boring hair. I trusted her to work her magic and she gave me the cutest bob that was easy to maintain and stylish. I received so many compliments on my new haircut. I really enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of her salon and look forward to getting away from mom-duty to get my hair done!

Hair Guru

Karen has been doing my hair for 7 years now, and I couldn't have another person touch my hair now. I have long, thick, naturally curly hair. When you add a complicated highlight on top of that, I have to go to someone I can trust who knows exactly what I need. On top of that, the atmosphere at Karen's place is relaxing - the best I've ever had. I've had to move away from Austin now, but I'll be coming back to Karen any time I'm in the area. She's THAT GOOD!!!!

A Fabulous Stylist!

I absolutely LOVE Karen! I have amazingly curly, thick, long, course, unruly hair (the kind of hair that actually makes MOST stylists hope you're not their client when you walk through the door!). Karen is one of the ONLY stylists I have ever met who not only welcomes the challenge of my hair, but does an AMAZING job! If you have naturally curly hair and have struggled to find a stylist who actually understands what to do with it, search no longer! Karen is your woman! Also, I should not forget to mention that her highlights rock and the atmosphere she creates in her salon is awesome! You simply cannot go wrong with Karen, unless you don't enjoy being stopped by lots of people wanting to compliment you on your hair! ;-)
