I use to be a loyal Taverna customer and tried to not let the replacement of the old managers by young, aggressive, rude and arrogant managers turn my opinion negative but it has. The food, service and overall feel of this place has changed dramatically. This is yet another "corporate" restaurant company trying to come to Austin and show us that rude waiters, cold food and a stuffy feel really is what puts money in the "big-man's" pocket. Please do not not even waste your time. Until Lombardie's can actually get his head out of his _ _ _ and figure out what Austin is all about then maybe I wil go back... order what tastes like a frozen pizza, call it original Italian, then pretend not to care that the managers must of received their training out of a cracker jacks box and sit quietly and wait 45 min. to receive a dirty Martini! This place has not only gone South, but the bus is going 100 miles an hour. The Chef, I am sure must be a lovely man, but sometimes just because it acts like a duck and walks like a duck...DOES NOT make it a duck! Can someone tell me who this "Rick" character is and why he even tries to talk to tables. Rick please go back to wherever you came from! Taverna was better before you arrived...
Pros: It serves Pasta..
