Careful, quality work!

The work done on my home was perfect. In fact, I think they might have even done more than I hired them to do! That's what happens when you hire a painter who wants every home to see its potential. I had my home hand washed, the eaves all around repainted, water shelf repaired/replaced, and some other paint touchups. The workers were extremely hard-working, conscientious, and confidence-inspiring. The work was done so quickly and well it was like elves had descended while I was at the office. I will definitely be calling Doug as I move down my list of home projects...and for advice on the best ways to tackle them. He's actually just as helpful on the front end when you're deciding where to start...Oh, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the cost of the painting work. It all looks great!

Great job

We recently had the popcorn effect taken off our ceiling in our diningroom area and are thrilled with the results. Doug's team were very hardworking, and pleasant. It is an extremely messy job but they did their best to clean up and keep everything as dust free as possible. I would definitely recommend them.

A Fine Painting Company

In painting the fence we had installed and in their work inside our house, Doug Gorton and his staff were very responsive to our environmental sensitivities. The extent to which Doug consulted with us about our choices was exemplary. When it came time for the actual painting to occur, there was efficiency, thoroughness, and excellent work inside and out. We would recommend Doug and his company to anyone looking for the best possible painting performance.

UPDATE: Doug did another excellent job painting a room in our house. We continue to think he has a terrific painting company.

1940's house looks like new

I hired another painter recommended on my neighborhood (brentwood) message board who did a TERRIBLE job of half-scraping my house and then disappeared with half of my money. Doug and his crew came in and saved the day. Not only does the original wood siding on this 60 year old house look like new but before they started they raked my entire front and back yard! I pretty much asked him to "paint it gray -- make it look good" and the sleek three-color result still makes me smile every time I pull up my driveway. Thanks Doug!

Wonderful painter, wonderful job!

Doug was recommended to me by my friend/contractor, Paul Balmuth (PB Construction) who had just built my new front deck. Doug suggested that he hand-wash the old wooden(1964) house, wash all of the windows and paint the trim. He and his crew were professional, timely and efficient - I am very pleased with the result! And when my wrought iron bench made some stains on the new deck after they moved it, he offered to re-sand and re-oil the deck for free - now that's service!!

Best painter, general house beautifyer

Doug and his team of incredibly polite, professional, dependable and capable painters and handymen will make your house look better than you can imagine. We needed to get our house ready to put on the market, and what I appreciated most about Doug was that he walked around with me, listened, saw exactly what needed to be done (which included painting, sanding, fixing bits of wood, caulking, sealing, etc...), and then GOT IT DONE. No endless questions, endless repetition or price increases. He's just fabulous. Use him - your house will thank you.

Great Painter for Older Homes with Wood Siding

We have a home built in 1950 and the paint was in terrible shape. Doug Gorton's crew took off all the old paint and carefully prepared the wood before painting. Doug's crew painted the exterior of our house, re-glazed the windows, and painted our wood-frame screens. They also painted 24 kitchen cabinet doors for us. They worked with us until we were completely satisfied. The house looks great and we are very glad that we used Doug Gorton Professional Painting. We would definitely use them again.

Very professional!

Doug and his crew were very professional, punctual, quiet and clean. Everything you want in a painter and his crew. They also went out of their way to do extras like cleaning fences, patios and driveways. Doug also made sure that work not done to his satisfaction was taken care of even when we didn't recognize the flaws! Left my house looking as good as new. I would highly recommend them!

Fantastic quality, communicaton, and trustworthiness

I can?t say enough great things about Doug Gorton, his crews, and his staff!

Our 1941 bungalow?s exterior hadn?t been painted in many years and had a fair amount of rotted wood siding. First, Doug recommended a fantastic carpenter, Jerry Kirk, who was able to work around the painting crew. Doug?s guys carefully hand washed the whole house (powerwashing messes up old wood), then they painstakingly hand scraped and sanded down all the old layers of paint, spackled/caulked, and primed.

They also reglazed the original windows. Doug helped me with some color ideas and placement?he has a great eye! The final result is just beautiful, far exceeding my already high expectations. Their attention to detail, fantastic communication, work ethic, trustworthiness, and overall high quality make Doug and his people the only painters I?d ever consider in the future.
