I took my poodle here yesterday for the second time. The first time they did an OK job and I returned because they have a rapid return option that I liked. When I dropped her off the woman had a card on her hand and asked me if I wanted her the "same as before" I said yes but dont shave her face this time. When I returned she was shaved to the skin everywhere but her face (its the first week on Febuary!!!) I was amused at the time because she looked so silly, but she has been shivering nonstop since and its not funny anymore. Not cool to do to a 15 year old dog in the winter! On top of that her nails where cut so jagged that my knees where bleeding by the time a got home from her beening on my lap. Today I discovered that her ears where not cleaned and her butt was red and swollen (from the gland extract) What is wrong with this people??? I'm horrifed that I actually paid them. In fact, they owe me money for sweaters!

Pros: Rapid return.

Cons: butched my dog.

I am sorry that you feel this way about your pet's grooming. However, I feel I must make mention of a few facts that seemed to be left out of your unfavorable review.I was the 'woman with the card on her hand', which was the record of the last grooming instructions. Those instructions were followed, as before, with the exception of the face being fuller. The problem was that your poodle had not been groomed in almost six months, and was very matted and tangled. With her age in mind, I worked to gently remove the coat and still manage to leave the coat the same length as it was on her first satisfactory visit. Her little bum was likely sore from removing the debris and poo that had matted to the hair.Very full analglands will also cause discomfort, and were emptied during her bath.Perhaps her shivering was because she no longer had a matted coat to keep her warm.It sometimes takes a couple days for a dog to acclimate to a short clip. I did offer a refund, and was rudely refused.
