Pilates for all ages. I was looking for a program that would help make me stronger, flexible, tone my muscles and correct my posture. Every gym I attended started off with jumping activities. My body would not take all the jumping and I do not think it is good for my knees and other body parts! I tried Pilates at Joy Moves and I am hooked. I love the classes and feel like I am having a real workout without all the impact on my joints. I receive a lot of individual attention and modifications. The studio is very clean and the teachers are friendly. Joy moves is a studio that anyone at any age can enjoy treating their bodies to a great workout. Love it!

Outstanding. I was looking for a studio that offered morning classes and I found the best one! The teachers are super qualified and friendly. The classes are challenging and fun.

Best Pilates Studio in Austin. The Joy Moves staff is made up of the most qualified trainers I've ever seen. Even if you've never done a minute of Pilates, they'll get you up to speed quickly, and ensure you're using the right from at all times so you don't have to worry about injury. Plus the classes are so small, it's like having your own private Pilates instructor every time.

I started taking Pilates with them 6 weeks ago, and already my strength, posture, and overall body awareness are unbelievable.

Go to Joy Moves and try them out - you'll be amazed at the results, and you'll actually love "working out" for a change!

Change your body at JoyMoves. I was so impressed by the level of professionalism at JoyMoves. Each instructor really takes the time to get to know you and learn about pre-existing injuries, your fitness level and goals, and what works for your body. I've taken pilates with other instructors and I found the teachers at JoyMoves to be a cut above. They also deliver results: after five months of pilates on a regular basis, I have definition in my muscles, improved posture, and actually look longer and leaner. What's more, the JoyMoves studio is an open, airy loft with clean, sleek lines and fun design accents. Couldn't ask for a better respite from my busy day.

love love love!. JoyMoves is a wonderful retreat. I love doing my weekly Pilates at JoyMoves because the service is impeccable, the location is ideal, and I love their view from the second story window.

Great workout, wonderful atmosphere, no fear for the first-timers. "Joy Moves is the best place I have ever taken pilates, yoga and nia. The studios are large, and the rooms are very inviting. The interior is very green (eco-friendly that is), and very sanitary--which is so important, when walking around barefoot and rolling around on the ground. The pilates mats are free to use along with other pilates/nia tools-ie barrel, ring, blankets. Parking is easy and there is no pre-registering for classes (once a member). I just walk in 5 minutes before class, scan in my card, and I'm in.

All the instructors are super-friendly, and I have gotten very strong since starting pilates, I just added yoga to my repertoire and much like pilates, I am already hooked. I never feel like I am competing with anyone else, everyone is on the same path to better fitness.

I can't say enough great things about this place. I always leave feeling more relaxed, stronger and more flexible. I highly recommend giving it a shot, before long, you too will be a Joy Moves junkie, like me!

Editorial Review. Fitness studio offers whole-body conditioning workouts with Nia, yoga, Pilates (including Pilates MVe Chair) classes and private sessions, ages 14 and up.

Exactly What You Need to Feel Happy, Valued and Supported. I finally found a place where I can go to move, dance and get reconnected to my body without feeling like I am "exercising" or not as fit as anyone else. I LOVE the Nia classes. The teachers are so accepting of everyone, no matter if someone is comfortable moving, has danced or exercised before or not. In every class, they create a safe space and a "community" where each person can move as she is comfortable. I love the fusion of many dance forms and how the movement is made very simple to follow. I also really enjoy the many different styles of music that make me feel relaxed and invigorated at the same time. Each class starts out very slowly and affirms that I need to listen to my body and do what brings me joy and freedom. The class is nicely "scaffolded" into more opportunities to move in different ways and there are always segments of "free dance" when I can be very private or feel connected to others in the studio. There is no judgement about what anyone does and we are all made to feel supported and successful. AND it's a great exercise program; it's just that I never realize I am exercising! I love it! Finally, I can dance again like I did as a child!

No reason to go since NIA is gone.. Initially I wrote a very positive review of JoyMoves. You'll see that following my next few sentences. The owners of JoyMoves had once a lovely space , which they sold to Yoga Yoga , which entity destroyed the NIA dancing room by removing all the mirrors. Yoga Yoga also deleted wonderful yoga classes by Lauren Janes, destroying another reason to go to this place. Change is a part of life : this change has been for the worse. Therefore I have changed my recommendation. Now read on for howe delightful it once was to be a particpant at JoyMoves. NIA is one of the classes taught at JoyMoves . The setting is serene and well-designed . The teachers are friendly and savvy about fitness . Why go to a fancy spa staffed by only technicians ? Go to JoyMoves where the staff really knows what they're doing . I especially like the NIA classes taught on Monday and Friday by Elissa . NIA is barefoot dancing with a flair of adult playground . Never be afraid the ( mostly female ) attendees are anorexics or muscle-bound jock types . Every body type and every level of fitness is acceptable . You're free to be you ! Fun and fitness ... who could ask for anything more ?

This is my oasis.... A wonderful place and great options to exercise. The teachers are excellent, the workshops are interesting, and the staff is friendly. The traffic in the afternoon is heavy!
