I had really high hopes for this technique to help my lack of confidence and lack of direction in life. I did follow Laura Ryan-Day's instructions and meditate to the cd's 3 times a day. Unfortunately, I haven't made much progress. Maybe my issues were too complicated, but after 7 sessions, and $500, I expected more. Beware - she makes you pay upfront with no refund offered. To me, the method of hypnosis Ryan-Day uses is guided imagery, not really what I call hypnosis at all. Offering clients an extra session free for a positive review is a conflict of interest, IMO.
Pros: Is relaxing, improved my sleep
Cons: Didn't adress my real concerns at all

I’ve had problems with sweets for over twenty years. In college, after a test, I’d be tired and reward myself with a bag of cookies or some other sweets. It got harder and harder for me and then in my forties I started thinking about sweets almost all the time. I tried to stop myself by telling myself that I wasn’t going to have a binge. I would save up and have a big binge and once it came on, I couldn’t stop it. After having cancer, I felt that I needed to do everything possible to stay healthy. Sugar feeds cancer, so I didn’t want to give the cancer an opportunity to grow in my body. I was seeing sugar as a coping mechanism and after a binge I felt bad about what I had done. I heard about A New Day Hypnosis at Austin Integrative Health. I decided to call and set up an appointment. I started to feel differently about sweets. When I was around them, I didn’t feel drawn to them the way that I had in the past. I’m not thinking about chocolate and making plans to add it into my day and I’ve developed other coping mechanisms to deal with stress. I know that I’m doing everything possible to be healthy and I feel more in control. When I go to a party with sweets, I don’t stand around by the dessert table anymore and I feel better about being in those situations. I feel more confident because I’m doing the things that I need to do to be healthy. I have a real sense freedom now because I’m not obsessed with sweets. I love the fact that I’m able to go into Whole Foods and walk by the desserts without staring at them. I don’t have to feel guilty and I like having the sense of control. I would definitely recommend A New Day Hypnosis because it has helped me. It’s so hard to do it on your own and it’s much better to change your way of thinking than trying medications or a crash diet that doesn’t work long term. I have healthier ways of looking at food and I’m very confident that I’m on the right path to making a change in my life.

I’ve had problems with self-esteem since I was a pre-teen. . I depended on validation from others and and instead of thinking about work, I thought about my relationships with men and what needed to be changed. I was feeling desperate because I couldn’t focus on the things that were important in my life. I was in such a state of anxiety because I couldn’t stop the thoughts and the chatter or get past constantly analyzing myself and my problems. I’ve used therapy on and off to work on my problem and it actually gave me more anxiety. I felt like I had to defend myself to the therapist and got really bored listening to myself talk. It wasn’t doing anything and it seemed like I was wasting my time. I decided that hypnosis might be helpfulfor me and I read a lot of reviews of local hypnotherapists on yahoo. I thought that A New Day Hypnosis sounded the best, so I decided to call. The change was immediate for me and I had an overall sense that there were steps that I could take to improve myself, which was a relief. It’s very self explanatory and I have a guide to take me through this, so it’s been easy. I definitely feel more in control now. I’m contributing more to my own life and to others who are close to me. I’m more present and if someone calls me to talk about their problems, I’m a better listener and I’m not distracted with my own issues. I’m more responsible in my daily life and I feel a lot more confident about things. It’s just sort of like putting on rose colored glasses. I’m more positive in general. I really believe that I deserve good things in my life. The most important benefit that I’ve gotten out of this is hope. I feel like I can make these behavioral changes and I have a sense of relief about it. I would recommend A New Day Hypnosis to anyone who wants to work on issues like mine because it’s unique and it’s easy. I feel confident that I’m at a really good stage in life and that there are good things coming up.

I’ve had problems with a lack of confidence and limiting beliefs all of my life. When I went back into the hair business, there were blocks that were keeping me from succeeding and I wasn’t confident enough to go out and market my business. I went to various counselors to help fix the problem and also tried positive affirmation writing. I’ve read all variations of self-help books, but with everything I did it always had a short term effect. I would feel some relief and move forward a little bit, but I couldn’t stay with it for very long before I started reverting back to my old, negative habits. I heard about A New Day Hypnosis through a woman that I met at Toastmasters named Kristi Curry. She had overcome stage fright with hypnosis and recommended it to me. It was time for me to make some drastic changes and I was ready. I noticed right away that I was getting more clarity on different things. My mind started expanding on new ideas and I felt more confident to act on them. I get a lot accomplished before my work day begins and I feel more in control. I don’t feel afraid anymore and for the first time ever, everything in my life is organized. My brain is clearer and more focused and I love waking up and thinking about new, innovative ways that I can get my business out there. For the first time, I feel confident that I can be accountable to myself and there’s nothing to hide anymore. I’m feeling so proud because I’ve finally tapped in to what I came here to do and I’ve gotten past the barriers that were keeping me from success and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to overcome a block. Laura is a very calm soul; she’s easy to talk to and gives great advice. Most of all, plain and simple, it’s easy and it works. I’m confident that I’m free of my problem permanently because I’m not in a place of doubting anymore. I know what I want and I see my goal very clearly and vividly, so I know that I will have success.

I’ve been really afraid of falling and being in high places for the last year. I would drive different roads and not do certain things so that I didn’t have to drive on overpasses and other elevated areas. I wouldn’t go sight seeing if it had anything to do with heights. I couldn’t even stand on the second level at a shopping mall. I felt out of control and it was embarrassing. I was self conscious because I couldn’t do anything and I’d become very dependent on my fiancée to get around. I was freaking out about it a lot and it made my life more stressful and difficult. Since I’ve moved to Austin I’ve noticed that there are a lot of bridges and I found myself taking longer to get places so that I wouldn’t have to drive certain routes. I decided that I needed to take care of my problem before it got more out of control, so when I heard about A New Day Hypnosis on yahoo, I decided to make an appointment. I started to notice that I had less anxiety getting on overpasses and didn’t feel as nervous when I was driving with other people. I went on a trip to San Francisco and we drove up some mountains and went over a couple of big bridges and I was able to handle it. I do whatever I want now. I don’t have to wait on my fiancée or depend on him to take me different places, which gives me a stronger feeling of control. I feel more relaxed and more confident and really feel that I can do anything. I’m not held back anymore. I feel less anxiety and that has made the quality of my life a lot better. I would recommend A New Day Hypnosis to anyone who has a fear of heights because it’s all about your subconscious and the way that you think. I don’t think a lot of people really understand what hypnosis is all about and how it works, but I’m confident that I’ve seen a lot of progress and that I’ll continue to improve.

I’ve had issues with self confidence, fear of rejection, and shyness for the last 25 years. My lack of confidence impacted me a lot and affected every aspect of my life. I was self-conscious around people and I shied away from anything challenging. If someone said hello tome, I tried not to say much. I wasn’t taking risks and I just felt bad about myself. There wasn’t any focus because my mind was clouded with negative thoughts and bad memories from the past. I’ve tried reading self-help and motivational books. I would pick up a book, read it for a few weeks and then put it aside. I might read something inspiring and get fired up, but the fire went out very quickly. I heard about hypnosis when I was watching Oprah, I did a search on yahoo for it. I was a little worried because I’ve seen way too much TV and I had a misconception of what it was going to be like. I thought that I might be in some kind of trance or I wouldn’t know what was going on. I started to notice results after the first session. It was an eye-opener because I started to believe things that I never would have thought about myself. I felt more motivated and started working out again. I feel much more in control now because I don’t get nervous around people. At work, I’m more comfortable with myself and I can talk to anybody. I have a new life and I just feel great because I’m going in the right direction. I have these tools that are totally different from anything I’ve ever tried before. I have more energy and feel better about myself. Hypnosis has helped me to replace my bad behaviors with good ones and change my way of thinking. I’ve shifted my focus to the positive and it’s been easy for me. I would absolutely recommend A New Day Hypnosis to anyone who wants to work on self confidence because Laura is inviting and makes people feel at ease. She’s easy to talk to and is also inquisitive. I feel a lot better and it’s a relief for me that I can change. It’s like a new beginning.

I decided to start a family at age 39 and for the last year my attempts to have a child had not worked out. I was told by my doctor that I couldn’t use my own eggs with in-vitro and that the child really wasn’t going to be me, so I felt really isolated. I started to feel worn out and unworthy; I was hard on myself and felt like I was a lot older than I really am. The holidays were a bad time for me last year because I lost the pregnancy with a donor egg. There was a period shortly after everything happened that I felt panicked and anxious and it was almost like I was having a break down. As the holiday season approached this year all the bad memories started coming back and I got into a rut. I felt like such a hopeless case and thought that I had nothing to look forward to. My work was suffering. I’ve tried some counseling to overcome my problem, but it wasn’t very helpful. She didn’t have a lot of experience or professional boundaries, so it didn’t help me. I heard about A New Day Hypnosis on citysearch and decided to call. I have a tendency to be inflexible with myself and internalize everything, but after meeting with Laura, I started to feel like I had more options. I felt more upbeat and excited about things, which made me feel more positive about my situation and really believe that there was hope for me. I really appreciate Laura’s frame of reference about the issues that I face and I noticed that I was much more relaxed. The most important things that have happened for me have been letting go and feeling more resolved about what I would like to do with my life if I don’t have a child. For the first time, I feel okay about things if it doesn’t work out and that’s been really important for me. I would recommend A New Day Hypnosis to anyone in my situation because I think that a lot of people have a hard time letting go, but just like anything in life, this is a gamble, so you have to learn to let go and be okay with things no matter how they turn out.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the last seven or eight years. I felt totally out of control, but I was pretending that it was okay. I was uncomfortable and it was hard because I wanted to go back to wearing more fashionable clothes that I wore when I was skinnier, but nothing fit anymore. I felt like I couldn’t control what I was eating and I would tell myself “Well I’m fat, so who cares if I eat more chorizo,” I always thought that I could just start my diet tomorrow. I tried lots of diets, from nutritional natural weight loss products, to liquid diets. I would lose a little bit of weight, but gain it back as soon as I was off the diet. I’ve gone to personal trainers at the gym and I’m even a lifetime member at Jenny Craig. I heard about A New Day Hypnosis when I saw an ad on craigslist. When Laura spoke with me, she was very straightforward and helped me figure out what I needed to do to reach my goals. I started to focus on eating properly and being more realistic about what I was supposed to do. I’ve noticed that people are noticing the difference in me. Even if I feel tired sometimes, when I focus on what I need to do, the energy comes from nowhere. I feel more in control now because I’m focused on what kind of food I’m eating and I don’t feel like I’m starving myself. I’m eating much smaller portions and I don’t drink soda at all now. I used to always buy the Mexican sweet bread at the grocery store and now I can walk through and not even look at it. My husband and my parents have noticed that I eat smaller portions, more vegetables, and more proper meals. I feel more confident and I look better in my clothes. I believe that these changes will be permanent because I don’t feel like I’m on a diet. I’ve seen the changes that I’ve had and I don’t think that weight loss is something magical anymore. Laura has really helped to get me focused on my goals. It’s been wonderful and if she can help me, she can help lots of other people too.

I’ve had problems with procrastination and poor study skills for as long as I can remember. When something caused me to feel anxious, I would prolong addressing it and just put it off. I’ve tried to telling myself that this behavior was going to change, but it just didn’t stick. I would usually waste a couple of hours at a time and really missed the boat with what I needed to be doing. My procrastination had become a real problem and oftentimes, I had to go to my professor and tell them that my work wasn’t ready. I felt unprepared and had a lot of anxiety when I took tests because instead of studying the material that was going to be tested, I would go off on tangents and waste time. The situation felt out of control, it made me very nervous and something just felt wrong. I was aware that I was procrastinating, but felt like I couldn’t do anything to stop it. I was in Borders Bookstore and I saw an ad for A New Day Hypnosis. After talking to Laura, I trusted that this was the place for me. I started noticing results within a few days of my first session. I noticed that I felt a lot calmer and I was more motivated. I feel continually motivated to complete my assignments now and also have excitement about my work. I’ve also noticed an increased sense of well being relating to my ability to study. I feel more in control and have more energy to direct towards my goals. There’s much more time focused on the task at hand. I feel more confident now. I can listen to my sessions if I start to feel nervous and I get reminded of my goals and feel relaxed so that I can get back on task. The most important benefit for me has been the ability to focus again. I would definitely recommend A New Day Hypnosis to anyone who wants help with procrastination and study skills because it has helped me a lot. I’m confident that these habits are becoming ingrained and that I will have continued success and progress in my goals.
Pros: A great help

I came to A New Day Hypnosis because I had decided to go to law school, but was having a lot of difficulty studying for the LSAT. I wasn’t sleeping well because of everything that was going on and when I took the LSAT for the first time it was pretty bad. Ever since, I’ve had a lot of anxiety and a huge mental block when I tried to take LSAT practice tests. I went to tutoring and the scores that I was getting definitely wouldn’t get me into any law school. I looked at the questions, but didn’t really understand what they were saying. The LSAT isn’t an easy test and I needed some outlet to focus my mind on the task at hand without getting side-tracked by the things that were going on in my life. I was to the point where I decided that if I had to do a Jedi mind trick to make this work than I would try it. I heard about A New Day Hypnosis on yahoo local and decided to give it a shot. I started noticing results almost immediately after my first meeting. I felt like I was wiping away a lot of the distracting thoughts and had increased mental clarity. I can go three to four hours without feeling tired. I’ve developed strategies to get myself through tougher questions and I feel more in control because I have much tighter reigns on my goals. I know more about what’s in front of me and I have a much clearer focus on my future. The most important benefit that I’ve received has been overcoming the mental block and being able to be at peace with what I need to do. I recently took the LSAT again and it was funny because everybody else was standing around freaking out and I felt just fine. It was easy for me to just relax and have fun, which is completely opposite from my last experience with this test. I recommended A New Day Hypnosis to one of my coworkers because I feel so much better about things now and I think that other people can benefit in the same way.
