The Best Haircuts in Leander/Cedar Park

I can't imagine that one reviewer going into the same salon that I have been going into for the past several months. I have tried several other stylists in the past several years, at times resorting to just cutting my own hair and my kids, because I thought there wasn't an adequate stylist in my price range. The first time I went into Modern Hair Salon it was 20 minutes past closing and I offered to come back the next day, but Lynn sat me down and in 10 minutes I had the best haircut I'd had in years! The next day I brought my daughter in --- my teenage daughter that hated to get her haircut anywhere because it's so thick and curly, I would inevitably have to "fix" it once we were home. Now, my daughter won't go anywhere else. She and my teenage son and my husband have also gotten their hair cut before by Vuilma (I think that's her name.... can't remember now, but she's very sweet), and any of us have yet to be disappointed.

These women are very friendly, very professional, and the salon is nothing like the one "horrendous" patron described. The only explanation I can think of is that that person went to another salon and mistakenly thought the name was Modern Hair Salon, or it's a rival stylist in another salon.

I have recommended them to friends and family, and if Lynn ever moves we will follow her!

Great hair cuts without an appointment at half the price of the JCPenney Salon

I was going to the Lakeline mall JCPenney Salon for 8 years where I received great haircuts, however it was becomming increasingly expensive and I was always waiting for at least 30 minutes even though I had an appointment. I decided to try Modern Hair Salon because it was highly recommend to me by a friend. I received the same great hair cut at half the price and without the hassle of setting appointments on limited days to see my hair stylist. I just come in when it is convenient for me and the wait is minimal, in fact much less than when I was setting appointments at JC Penney. Lynn does a great job of cutting hair the way you like it.

Great pricing---Quick & Friendly

I read the previous review and wonder if this is the actual salon that person had visited. I've been here at least 9 times and would be more often but I'm out of town a lot. I've been coming here for the last 3 years.

One of the reasons I like it is the salon's color scheme of goldenrod/yellow which makes for a very cheery atmosphere. Lynn is the lady who usually greets me when I come in---always friendly, talkative, and personable. If I have to wait at all, it's usually quite quick.

As mentioned before, I've been here on several occasions and have never seen anyone with their midriff's exposed. The stylists are usually wearing aprons so where the midriff comes into play, I don't know.

I like the fact that they have a "frequent flier card/program" for haircuts. Modern Hair Salon is professional, kept clean, friendly, services are fairly fast, and the pricing is very reasonable compared to most salons. I am usually in for highlighting & haircut and hate nothing more than being in a stylist's chair for 2-3 hours for that service.) At MHS (Modern Hair Salon), it's always under an hour & a half at most--so I have time to do other things during my day--my time isn't wasted.

To me, for the fees and services rendered, it's a pleasant experience all around. I would recommend this salon to my friends.

Poor cut, horrendous service

I should have known as soon as I walked in that it would be a horrible salon. It was dirty, there were outdated posters on the wall and my stylist's shirt was showing a few inches of midriff. While I was getting my hair shampooed, she proceeded to get water down my shirt and began questioning me on my skin care routine, while stating how bad my acne was (its mild). To top off thw worst service of my life, she stopped mid cut to show me her son's report card. And the cut- i couldn't hold in my tears at the sight of it- it was that bad. I asked for a trim "because i'm growing out my hair", 3 inches were cut off, and the scissors left 100 too many split ends. Absolutely horrible salon, anyone who loves their hair should stay far away.

Very pleased!

My wife and I are pleased with the service Lynn provides. We were happy she opened her business as she was our stylist at our previous hair salon. This is the first stylist my wife is happy with when it comes to the results of hair coloring (no one else will ever touch her hair).
