the raddest bar downtown

This place is my fave. All of the staff is really nice and generous with the strength of the alcohol in drinks. I like how dark it is inside. You can see what you need to but everyone's flaws aren't on display. The customers here are really cool...on any given night I run into at least three people I know. I do agree with the complaint about the bathrooms, but that's the only con I can think of.
- Pros: super friendly staff, cool crowd, good prices
- Cons: bathroom
A low-key lounging spot just off a downtown thoroughfare.

In Short
The name may suggest this is just a spot to pass time before or after a Red River-venue show. However, thanks to its large gravel patio, reasonably priced drinks and scenester atmosphere, the bar is a destination on its own, offering a relaxed alternative to nearby Sixth Street. Twenty- and 30-somethings wile away the evening at the pool tables or gather outside to drink Lone Star beer and smoke endless rounds of cigarettes.

i pretty much love everything about this bar. it's off 7th street, so you don't get the typical sixth street crowd. the bartenders are super friendly and always remember what i drink and they pour with a heavy, heavy hand. go for a live oak pilz or a lone star if you're not a fan of strong drinks. there are pool tables and also a dart board. comfy couches, cozy tables, great art and decor. there is an amazing jukebox, which in my opinion, has the best selection in austin. there is a huge patio, which during the summer time is home to many a movie night or cartoon night. it's my favorite place to go any night of the week. my two complaints are these only: there is only one bathroom stall for women and one for men, so on busy nights you'll be waiting in line for a while...and then there is the scary music coming from the bars down the street...it gets a little loud. other than these things...it's the best bar ever.
- Pros: nicest bartenders in town, jukebox, patio
- Cons: noisy music from neighboring bars, bathroom lines.
