Anyone who knows anything about pizza....this place uses a conveyor oven. If you like Conveyor pizza, this place makes it pretty thin, which gives it some crunch, but not the right type of crunch like pizza cooked on a stone. Ingredients are mediocre. we had the Margherita pizza, which they claim is one of their signature pizzas, traditionally a margherita doesn't have sauce, the mozzarella wasnt fresh, not enough basil, the only good thing was the tomatoes were thin cut half circles and dispersed well. Aside from the food, the operation is a mess. A young man greeted us at the door and said that there was a 5 minute wait, we waited outside without looking in. Then he called our name and as we walked in we found out we were supposed to order at the counter immediately... it was like being shot out of a canon. We quickly rushed to choose what we wanted, ordered two drinks, paid and sat down. After sitting for 10 minutes we received our breadsticks and we were finally told that you get your first drink from the fountain and then they will refill them after that....WHAT???? The place was full of three button polo shirts, teva sandals, pleated shorts, slacks, leather loafers with no socks, and tons of hairspray and mom jeans. Looks like everyone just got out of a republican golf tournament, but I guess you have to expect that in circle C or anywhere west of Mopac. All in all the experience sucked. We will never go back. P.S. Pizza Garden stinks too.

I just moved to South Austin, and Mangieri's is my second favorite pizza spot, second, of course, to Home Slice. Their crust is great, and all the toppings are interesting and delicious. I simply love their Stomboli (try it with alfredo sauce). This place is great!

Pros: Great pizza, great location, fast delivery.

Cons: Everything is pretty self-serve, prices are ever-so-slightly above expected.

I have eaten here many times and never gotten one thing I wouldn't order again. I love the sandwiches, the bread is great. I will always get the italian with peppers and creamy italian when I make a pizza trip. I have had all the salads, which are always made with fresh vegetables. Above all, the pizza is wonderful! Fresh, homemade crust. The ingredients are fresh and varied. I love the feta cheese, olives, tons of vegetables, cream cheese, and lean meat options. The man that said this was bad pizza-from Chicago-when did Mangieri's claim to be Chicago style? That is a completely different animal. They don't gave 4 " thick pie pans filled with a 2" crust and so much sauce and toppings on your plate you have to use a fork and spoon. They didn't say they were Chicago style, and they're not. I am glad-I want fresh, light, cheesy, crunchy crusted pizza. I don't want a pile of sauce and cheese that makes me feel like a huge whale. I think there are plenty of people from new England and New York that would strongly disagree with your "I know pizza" comment. I get mine with wheat crust, feta cheese, chicken and spinach. If you want more sauce get some on the side or ask for extra. They are a very accommodating establishment.

I have eaten at all the pizza joints in town, and Mangieri's is the best. The crust is perfect, and it doesn't leave a heavy feeling in your stomach. They don't overdo it with the sauce, and they use the highest quality of meats and cheeses. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Great pizza! Others in our group loved the salads, sandwiches and the lasagna. The staff was very courteous and helpful. All in all, a great experience and a great value. A great place to either enjoy a good meal with friends or to have a quality dinner with a spouse or a date. Now if they would just open one up North...

I love the food at Mangieri's. It is a hidden gem in SW Austin. We first went there on a lazy Sunday afternoon and had the Lasagna and thought "wow" this is really good. Since then, have tried other pastas, the sandwiches and, of course, the pizza. The pizza's are great. We love their whole wheat crust. We have not been disappointed with anything on their menu. If you are nearby, you need to visit them. You'll go back also.

Sorry, but I've tried this pizza twice and it has been mediocre at best. There is almost no sauce on the pizza and the toppings are few. I would try some of their other items but would not recommend the pizza to anyone. Austin Pizza Garden definitely is much, much better.

This may not be the best pizza in all of Austin, but it's definitely the best in the SW area, and ranks up there with Reale's, Home Slice, etc. The Classico (grilled chicken, roma tomatoes, basil and garlic) on whole-wheat is stunning. And the dining room is gorgeous! But it's small and has instantly become popular with Circle C families, so if you show up right at 6:30 or 7, there's going to be a wait and some noisiness. If you can wait until 8 or so, it's a lovely place to take a date or chill with a glass of wine and a book.
