I (and my dogs) love, love, love Happy Mailman! As soon as we pull into the drive they start clamoring to get out and pull me through the office as fast as they can so they can get to their friends and start playing! They love getting to make friends and play all day long. They also love the staff. My dogs never leave without giving the staff goodbye hugs. I love that I can feel confident that they will be safe, loved, and taken care of while I am at work. I want my dogs to be socialized, but steer clear of dogparks because of all the potential risks involved. Happy Mailman provides them with the socialization they need in a controlled environment. I can breathe easy knowing that all of their playmates are vaccinated and friendly and will play in a safe way without getting out of control. Also, I was very satisfied the one time that my husband and I had to board them for a few days. I called to check on them while we were away and the staff was so accommodating and was more than happy to give me a report on how they were doing. When we came to pick them up they had been bathed and their nails had been trimmed (as we requested) and I could tell that they had had a really good time. They were happy, healthy, and tired!I will never take my dogs anywhere else! Happy Mailman is the best!
Pros: friendly, honest staff & safe, controlled environment
Cons: location a little far for me, but worth it!

First, the good: Happy Mailman is very clean and new, and there seems to be a good deal of room for dogs to run and play. I have taken my active dog to Taurus and Happy Mailman, and Happy Mailman seems more spacious and clean. However, there's also bad. For one, the windows for dropping off and/or picking up your pooch can be a little bit limited. We had a specific problem with these windows, when we asked a Happy Mailman employee over the phone when we could drop off our dog. The answer was "after 9." We showed up to drop her off at around noon and were turned away and left in a serious bind. It really ruined an important wedding weekend and forced us to scramble and negatively alter our plans. The employee should have told us "from 9 to 10" if that's the window for dropping off a dog, not "after 9." Moreover, when we did show up late, the Happy Mailman people could have just made an exception or figured out some other way to accommodate us, especially because the tardiness was a consequence of their poor communication. Another thing that we were concerned about was that our dog's behavior with other dogs changed for the worse when she got back from a few days of boarding at Happy Mailman. She had a bite mark or two on her, and her behavior around other dogs suddenly and radically changed when we got her back after a long weekend. Whereas before, she was always incredibly sociable and gregarious around other dogs, almost to the point of being too friendly, she became much more defensive and on-edge after a stay at Happy Mailman. Because of the bite mark and the behavioral changes, we are assuming our dog was attacked while at Happy Mailman, but we're really not sure. I liked Happy Mailman, but the bite mark and strange behavior left a bad taste in our mouth about the place, but we figured it was an isolated incident. Then, when they refused to take our dog, leaving us in such a terrible bind for such an important event, we decided we would never go back there.
Pros: Seems clean and spacious.
Cons: Poor customer service, too expensive.

I have taken my dogs here many times for overnight boarding, sometimes for just one night and sometimes for several nights. They always leave happy and tired. More importantly, my dogs react with excitement when they get to the boarding facility -- they jump out of the car and strain at the leash to go in, wagging furiously. Inside, they greet the people who care for them in the boarding facility as they would any other friend. I stopped taking my dogs to a different boarding facility in a different city after they displayed just the opposite reaction (realized where we were and cowered in the back of the car, plainly unhappy to be there). I think my dog's reaction to the Happy Mailman is probably the best indicator, although from a people standpoint I can also say the facility does a good job. Staff have been pleasant and attentive, reported to me on my dog's behavior and condition, and worked with me when I needed a special arrangement. I would highly recommend this business for pet boarding and daycare.
Pros: Good service provided to pets; good customer service; clean, well-maintained facility.
Cons: costly

Wow, my experience at Happy Mailman couldn't be any more different than the previous reviewer's! My dogs really get excited as soon as they see the place and absolutely love the staff. They always come home happy and tired. I, myself, have never had any customer service problems, and they have even gone so far as to work with me for special circumstances. The location is great for me since I live in Circle C, and it's right on 290 so it's easy to get to. I suppose it could be a problem if you don't live in the area, but a map can solve that. I will definitely be recommending Happy Mailman to all of my friends.
Pros: friendly staff, dogs love it
Cons: fills up quickly for holidays

My experience with Happy Mailman could not have been worse! I would never take my dog there again, and I would never recommend the place to anyone. When I picked my dog up, he had puncture wounds from being bitten by another dog, and he was filthy and had burrs in his fur! The staff is not customer oriented, and the location is inconvenient. Happy Mailman charges a premium price for what is supposed to be a premium service, but in this case, you do not get what you pay for. If you love your pet, do not go here!
Pros: Facility appears quaint (but looks are deceiving)
Cons: Poor service, poor care of dogs, unfriendly staff, bad location

i love leaving my dogs here! the attendants are friendly and seem to really care about the dogs, and the prices are reasonable. i hope they don't raise the prices as their clientèle grows! the facilities are clean and the dogs are allowed to play with each other instead of being isolated like in some kennels. i do wish they had a little more space for the dogs to go on walk or get in a good run, but the quality of care is worth that sacrifice.
Pros: super friendly and engaged staff, clean facilities, dogs get to play with each other
Cons: no running area or walks offered

Going on vacation was a bittersweet experience until we found Happy Mailman. Flite, our retired Greyhound, hated being left behind and generally dropped a few pounds. Jeff and his staff at Happy Mailman have completely altered our previous boarding experiences. Flite plays well with the other dogs, eats plenty, and comes home clean and tired from a hard day's play. Now she loves our trips out of town as much as we do!
Pros: Nothing but pros here: good people, healthy dogs, clean facility

I've never seen Poncho, my 5 year old Jack Russell get so excited to go somewhere before. Go to Camp? is his new favorite question. He gets plenty of exercise in the day and comes home tired (usually falls asleep in the car). This place is great for me since I can drop him off for the day on the way to getting the kids to school. They get their own air conditioned kennel to sleep in at "nap time" too, so I know he gets some rest during the day. Four paws up for Happy Mailman!
Pros: my dog loves it and comes home tired
Cons: wish it opened a bit earlier

Our dog LOVES Happy Mailman. I can't walk in fast enough for her; she is ready to go play with the other dogs. The staff is wonderful and truly put the dogs' interests first. They know about animals and really love them. I feel so comfortable leaving my dog in their care. We've also boarded our dog there too and the pick-up time was great. We love that it is a cage-free environment; our dog comes up and falls on the floor in a happy tired slumber. We have been to other places and this one, hands down, is the best.
Pros: Happy Mailman = Tired, Content Puppy! Great Employees, Excellent Facilities, Cage Free Daycare
Cons: Wish pick-up time was later (but they'll work with you some), No employee stays overnight for boarding (but a lot of places don't offer that anyway)
