Nothing to get excited about...

The atmosphere is great...classic. The food...something is missing from everything they have...lacking the "umph". The service outside is chaotic, unorganized, and slow. The drinks are served well...but overall the Belmont needs to focus on service...instead of trying to woo the crowds...great service keeps people coming automatically.
- Pros: Atmosphere
- Cons: Average food, poor service

- Pros: Food, Staff, Atmosphere

Worst place for a party

Almost everything they told me would happen, including a PRIVATE party that was not private, did not happen nor does anyone seem to care. If you want to have an open bar-be careful-they let anyone order drinks on your tab and the desserts came out after most of the guests had left. One thing that can help you save money--you don't need music--you just better hope that whatever band is playing that nite is something you like cause there is no way to avoid it. Best advice: plan a party somewhere else.
- Pros: Good food
- Cons: Complete waste of money
Cool atmosphere, bad food and shotty service

We arrived at 5 to enjoy a nice meal. It took the waiter a full ten minutes to take our drink order. There was no one else seated at the time. The tuna sashimi appetizer was phenomenal. The crem brulee was burnt and so was my red wine reduction over my filet mignon. The outside host was kicking people off of tables, creating a ruckus. maybe they were having an off night, but in my opinion, the presence of a manager was absent. The place was a bit in disarray.
Very cool atmosphere though
- Pros: location and atmosphere
- Cons: food and service

Two of my coworkers and I went after work. Our waiter was awesome. Food was fab! Note, if you are going to eat a meal, grab a booth- the high bar tables are a bit on the small side.
I'd definitely go back. =)

I have spent many an evening at the Belmont and I have not found a problem with it at all. They are the place to come for free Austin events. THey have Free movies on Mondays, free music on the weekends and the sweetest staff around. Not to mention they are very accommodating to large groups of crazy women. I throughly enjoy their food. and drinks. I would bring any of my out of town friends to eat here. I'm already planning to have a party there latter in the year. So yes take a small drive to downtown warehouse district and go to the Belmont !
- Pros: Free Events, Positve people, Fun place to go, Semin-romantic
- Cons: Highly Priced, No Parking, LIghtling is low
tacked on extra to my debit card...

I came here last weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday, using my debit card to buy a drink. The atmosphere was ok (definitely not great), and their drinks were lackluster...we left not too long after arriving. When I double-checked my bank account balance, I noticed the lovely bar staff of the Belmont decided to tack on an additional $1 tip to my card (keep in mind that I already added a tip...this was an extra present someone decided to give him/herself)- definitely *not* ok. All I have to say is that you're better off hitting any one of the similar lounge/bars in the area...you certainly won't be missing much (and hey, at least you won't be losing whatever the staff might decide to tack on your bill after you leave!)

This place makes great drinks, offers food, has good atmosphere: both inside and outside. It's also one of the few places in town that makes my favorite drink: sidecar.
Overated

With great anticipation (I had been dying to get here due to all the hype) I took three of my girlfriends here for dinner on a Friday night. One of them was from out of town. I found the atmosphere, for dinner anyway, a bit strange. The more important thing was the waiter/staff. We had the worst service. The waiter would disappear and had no personality. We ordered wine, which was sour - sent it back which was met with alot of grief. When he finally re-appeared with the wine (15 mintes later) he stated that indeed it was sour and did we want another bottle. We then proceeded to get our food. Two of us got fish - which was very bland. So I can end this with something positive, I did enjoy the patio outside. I would go back for a bar atmosphere and for DRINKS ONLY!
- Pros: Location/Outdoor Patio
- Cons: Horrible service/food

I am not sure what to say as the food is not bad but not great. The atmosphere is right on...the drinks are not so good.
- Pros: Great decorations...nice patio
- Cons: Poor food, lackluster drinks...dirty polo shirts
