User Reviews for Tiniest Bar in Texas

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

It's so great to find a bar that is easy-going, but still all about atmosphere and customer service. Drinks are really cheap, and the live music is wonderful. Easy to get to - right on the street, but far away from the 6th Street drunkard crowd (which is awesome). I went last night and the Austin Ice Cream Festival truck pulls up and starts handing out free ice cream! The band - the Bus Stop Stallions - was really fun and energetic; perfect for a hot summer night. Check this place out to avoid the normal downtown crowds!

Pros: Cheap drinks, live music, good service.

This bar is different from most any bar I can think of in town because it has people from all walks of life. People you might see at a preppy bar, gay bar, rocker bar all come together to enjoy great music (often a lot of 80s and Indie) in a very low key atmosphere. I am also totally hooked on Tito's and Sweetos. This is Tito's Vodka with Sweet Leaf tea. Anyone from the SF bay area might see a similarity of vibe with Zeitgeist in the mission district. Me likeskit!!!

Pros: Great Location, Great People, Great Music, Great Vibe

Cons: Lines at the bar, but thats true anywhere I guess

the photo here is flattering. up close, it's pretty shabby next the glitzy condos and the whole foods compound. drinks are cheap and there is a good selection, but it's a little grungy and it's right on the road. better hope it doesn't get cold or rain because there is nowhere to sit inside.

Pros: cheap drinks, good location

Cons: zero atmosphere, car exhaust level, noise level, no indoor seating

Editor's Review

Friendly neighborhood bar features an ample deck and beer garden overlooking the bustle heading further into downtown.  See the full editorial review.
